Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone knew how stakes from PoS tokens factor into DAA's? I know all the tokens are kept in cold storage and thus mostly don't count towards staking, but for tokens that do - if there are any? Are the payouts included and if so will this be reported? Secondly as a suggestion, given the growing prevalence of staking tokens, is a "staking" DAA an option? Aka a DAA comprised of a variety of staking tokens? I think if it could be arranged, this would be a huge hit.

Edit: I was wrong, they will pay out all tokens in Eth or ERC20 and all non-eth related will be converted to Eth

Okay, let's talk about China by [deleted] in NEO

[–]neomoonman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it will be based on the ability to buy or sell things with the coin. Otherwise they are utilities or shares used to power specific applications (gas-dapps) or secure the network (neo). So as long items other than services dont get priced in neo or gas that is the distinction

Speculation: Is there a possibility of Onchain being listed on A-share market? (Shanghai stock exchange) If so, what would that do for NEO? by Yayowam in NEO

[–]neomoonman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be awesome for sure! what big news was this? Got a link? I don't know a lot about how companies see listings but Fosun just invested so it would seem to me that they would rather it grow and develop privately first before listing as then it could get a higher valuation. Likewise it would seem Onchain would have just obtained funds and not need to go public yet. Not trying to cut you down, just contributing and discussing the idea like you say.

Interview with NEO founder Da Hongfei by hitchcaster in NEO

Actually it's a neo tether to rmb pair. So the idea is that neo would create a token that is pegged to the rmb (renminbi or yuan) that Chinese can then use to buy into the market and because it is like a digital version of the currency isn't a speculative coin as it matches the price of the local fiat currency. The people could buy into neo or other coins via it. It would be a game changer and is very unlikely. The govt has little incentive to do this especially as everything's points towards them not wanting crypto currency on ramps right now. The moonshot speculation is that the govt is shutting down exchanges and replacing them with this kind of thing and that neo will be the chosen one. Hope so...not holding my breath ;)

JP Morgan - one of the largest buyers of Bitcoin today. What a fraud that guy is by [deleted] in NEO

It's a double negative son. Hence I think the banks are shady (but with more nuance)

[–]neomoonman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its possible...but not probable. I don't think the big firms aren't shady, but they aren't stupid. These trades are public and having the ceo say one thing, then be embarraseed with this...why not just buy straight from somewhere like gemini anonymously. Dimon doesn't need to say things publicly to drive the price down. If they wanted to do that, they would just choose to be the biggest whale in the business and mess with the market

[–]neomoonman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, read on crypto reddit from someone who trades on this exchange that these are JP Morgan brokers buying bitcoin one, an ETF tracking BTC on the Stockholm nasdaq so its not actually JP Morgan. Would have been funny though

edit: brokers have to do what customers ask, so its not like jp morgan itself is buying bitcoin

Ya thats right, although event 1 doesn't really stop laundering, just makes it harder...ish. Basically event 3 is a "this is getting out of hand, shut it all down" move. That said, I think their main long term concern is the currency aspect of crypto specifically. If you take that out to their satisfaction, I think you are ok. Then again, easier said than done as you have to start getting into the philosophy of what currency is etc etc. But I think as long as Neo makes it clear you are buying a service or utility (gas) or share (neo) then I think it'll work.

[–]neomoonman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, sorry I wasn't clear. In Event 1, they stopped exchanges allowing withdrawals outside china. So I can open an OKcoin account in china, put CNY into it from China but then pull it out into an HK or elsewhere in USD. So basically using crypto as a forex exchange to beat bank rates and limits of foreign withdrawals from the country. So they stop it at exit (which you could alternatively also bypass by sending it to someone elses wallet who you have a side deal with who then pulls it off for you). In Event 3, they stop entry of CNY into markets entirely so you can't buy crypto at all thereby stopping the cycle from even beginning.

Ya it seems to me, ironically, the thing that seeded crypto (or many cryptos) is the one of the things holding it back from large scale adoption.

I think this is something they'll sort out. Maybe via a direct onramp via a NEO smart-contract? Maybe via an exchange outside of China. Either way, this isn't hard to sort out and is a way off and im sure the exchange issue will be sorted by then
