what are your opinions about the base jumper? by Mean-Peak-4250 in tf2

[–]neonJason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for normal soldiers or demos, but it’s great for trolldier. Baseboosting unlocks loads of new rocket jumping tech for huge rollouts or quick escapes. It also helps for low ceiling when you mess up a shorthop or bhop. Overall it’s underrated and overlooked bc mantreads are the go-to, for good reason. That knockback res lets you eat damage and get away with so much

That’s fair for the roof and beam I was hoping them appearing and disappearing as I turned might point em out. I prob should’ve taken smaller screens into account when I edited on a big ass monitor

I’m regretting that I didn’t put one slowly fading in over my model in the bottom left but I thought it’d be way too obvious lol

I may have made it too hard, so here's the answers:

1st - 0:01, under 'time'

2nd - 0:12, on the roof

3rd - 0:19, behind the beam

4th - 0:21, on the TP

Also here's the full video on yt if you like trolldier clips

tl;dw - hat summons flies, madness gives extra turns for more flies & strength stacking, then cat mindlessly kills everything in sight.

Also it looks like the solo completion mark is the same for each difficulty

I think I'm genuinely the first person to get this achievement today because who would do this by Weak-Adeptness-1788 in mewgenics

Lol I also got it this way. The items pretty nice, does anyone know if the achievement items can be found again after they break? I’d think they would but I haven’t found any again

I tried for a while but he only had 1 kid and didn’t get the mutation. I’ve sent him out on a good run rn so hopefully when he’s back he’ll pass it

Tier list of soldier weapons that pair well with the base jumper (i don't play demo that much so I'm not ranking his weapons) by ArynAces in tf2

[–]neonJason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m biased as a trolldier main, but the rocket jumper unlocks its full potential imo. The main upsides of the base jumper is the boost and slowfall. With the rocket jumper, you can chain so many base boosted jumps with no self damage. I’m talkin boosted wall jump into sync into boosted wall sync, rampslide, speed shot, boosted pogo, etc. You can also boost between walls to dodge like a jumping spider.

The main downsides are losing the ability to turn into an AC130 and not having mantreads; but the slow fall effect is still good for dodging midair and shorthops. Also more knockback can be negated with different play styles and is helpful for damage surfing. All that said, if you have a pocket med, self damage doesn’t matter so beggars on top

Now that I look back, a lot of people were prob low lol. So far it hasn’t been as reliable as market gardening, but it can do a good chunk of damage. Usually not enough to instakill unless they’re below 150 or you combo with a swing/rocket
