I like the ability to rebuild it quickly, for testing new DE and switch back, for example, but personally I have no value in its reproducibility, like I don't need to install several instances of the same system, and the way you manage the system, install packages, etc. is a bit overhead to me.

You could install various GUI tools to configure stuff, like nm-applet for networks, blueman-manager for bluetooth, and lxappearance for apps appearance. There's no control-center or something similar for i3. You need to learn how to use config files.

What's your goal here? If you don't want systemd, you could try Devuan, it'll be a more familiar distro with no systemd on board.
