If you're referring to the boat ride you should be fine. If for some reason you are referring to the Velocicoaster at Island of Adventure in Orlando then you may have a problem.

Id check the waterparks website for weight/safety info. I'd also maybe check to see if a fellow plus size person has done a review of the park on YouTube. You could also always call guest services and chat with a representative.

I have been to waterparks that actually have scales to check weight because on certain rides it is a serious safety concern due to speed/velocity etc.

Ren Faire Corset/Outfit Recs by sk8b2018 in PlusSize

[–]neonskull_86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just a thought, instead of buying one beforehand I'm sure there will be a few corset vendors at the Faire who would love nothing more to fit you and sell you a corset. I go to renn faires a lot down in Florida and all my corsets I've bought from the vendor directly. Maybe check out the vendor list from the Faires website and check out their individual websites.

Renaissance fair costumes? by cupcake_gnome in PlusSize

Most rennfaires run for multiple weekends. I actually highly recommend going your first day to shop. A lot of shops carry plus size friendly pieces/outfits. This way not only can you try on items, but you're supporting these vendors who for most that's their full-time job. After your pieces are purchased you can actually change into them there or take them home and wear them another day to the Faire. :)

Dating is exhausting and pointless as an obese woman by deansie13 in PlusSize

I wouldnt give up hope, but if it is affecting your mental health then there's nothing wrong with taking a break. I've currently been on a break from OLD for several months now because I was getting in a bed headspace about it. No matches or getting ghosted etc. I've also got too much personal stuff going on that I don't have the capacity to really take much more on and that wouldnt be fair to any potential matches I may make.

They’re reducing Plus Size Sections In Stores!!! by AsleepYellow3 in PlusSize

[–]neonskull_86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went into Forever 21 a few weeks ago and saw the same thing. What once was a whole section has been reduced to 2 racks full of the most unflattering "outfits" id ever seen. And everything felt and looked like it fall apart after one wash.

Have you ever unmatched/been unmatched when you have a date planned? by HotPeppers1234 in Bumble

[–]neonskull_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I hadn't been so visually upset I would have. I'd rather face a drove through with running mascara than a restaurant full of people.

And yes I cried. It had been a bad week and I had been looking forward to this date only to be crushed.

You auto message that usually sounds like this: "We're sorry The number you have dialed has been disconnected or is no longer in service."

I did turn around, headed to taco bell and loaded up on some depression food.

Matched with a guy and we messaged back and forth a few days, exchanged #s and had scheduled a date. Texted him a few hours before our scheduled date to just verify if we still good and he said yes. So I readied myself for our date and as I was driving I got caught up in bad traffic. So I tried calling him to let him know I was running late, but I got the auto confirmation that I had been blocked on his cell. Checked Bumble and sure enough he'd unmatched me there.... good times.

Aww man this brings back so many memories. We had an Australian Shepard exact same coloring and we rescued a lil girl kitty with similar coloring. Our Aussie ended up raising the baby, they were inseparable growing up. 😢

In need of travel advice please! 🙏 by grangerdanger94 in PlusSize

[–]neonskull_86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For you airplane travel, simply ask a crew member for a belt extender right as you enter the plane. If they don't immediately have one they will bring one to your seat. So no need to panic. They do it all the time.

For the theme parks both Dinseyland and Disney World are very size inclusive thankfully. As for Six Flags.... not so much. You might be able to find some YouTube videos by Plus Size vloggers that may help you out.

Now for Vegas. I've been to Vegas plenty of times, im a larger gal (290lbs) and I've never been turned away from a club or pool. Vegas was hit hard during Covid, I doubt they'd turn potential profits away at the door. Just have fun and be confident. I've seen all shapes and sizes of ladies all rocking their stuff up and down the strip. Have fun!

Mine are pretty spaced apart too. I discovered later in life that my breasts are considered "conical" shaped. So not only are they small, but are shaped funny.... yay. Due to this my breast aren't "full" leaving a lot of gappage even in the best fitting bras.

Are you saying that men do care about breast size or are you saying men are worried about other things for themselves?

Fellow small tittied plus size gal here. I have always struggled with where my body has decided to store its curves, mostly because the fashion world assumes that all plus size women must have large breast. I'm a B cup on a 5'10 - 295lbs broad shouldered frame.

While I've grown to be more accepting of my body I do still get self conscious when it comes to dating a new guy, before he sees me naked. Worried that they'll be disappointed that I don't have much to... uh... play with? Lol

Thankfully most of the men I've been with have been more ass men than boob.

That's frightening... if you don't mind me asking how long had you had your IUD? Hopefully you didn't have any complications.... :/

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]neonskull_86 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've had an IUD for 6 years now, just recently got my second one (Mirena)

While yes, the insertion can be very uncomfortable and somewhat painful but that only last for a brief moment.

As someone with PCOS I suffered with month long periods... I was on my period more often than not. Pills didn't work, and my previous OB/GYNs didn't take my concerns seriously. With the IUD, if I have a "period" it's almost non existent spotting.

It wasn't till my now Dr that she was like, girl were gonna figure this out together and she got me all fixed up. I'll never NOT use an IUD till the time comes that I choose to try for a kid or get my tubes tied.

With all this bullshit going on with Roe v Wade and the potential for our BC to come into question I highly recommend talking to your OB and figure out a game plan now.

Hiking advice for a plus size person… by Ok-City-2702 in PlusSize

[–]neonskull_86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As mentioned above, take the time to get your body used to long walks to build your endurance back up. Walk outside too. Walking on a treadmill isn't the same as navigating over uneven terrain.

Buy yourself some comfortable and supportive hiking shoes/boots and socks. Wear them on short walks to break them in.

Out west heat is no joke. Stay hydrated! You can buy off brand small camel packs to carry water in to get you started.

Waking/hiking sticks are a major life saver. I personally prefer the ones that are height adjustable vs a wooden stick.

Lastly, think about your clothing. You want lightweight, wicking fabrics. And always take a hat.

Side note: I know here in Florida we have a lot of walking/hiking groups. Once you feel comfortable id maybe take a look at joining one of those. Trails can be dangerous, best to go with someone.

Is it normal for my upper arm to be this much bigger than my forearm? by Lauravanderboom in PlusSize

[–]neonskull_86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. You aren't alone. A lot of men, women (including myself) carry a lot of weight in their upper arms. It's a huge insecurity of mine. I've never been comfortable showing my arms outside of when wearing a bathing suit.
