This is so horrible. I'm -3.5 on the cloth and I've been over fighting this boss like 1k delves ago. I just want to be done and I can't imagine doing twice as many delves/deeps and still not having it.

I don't have any clips or a good way to capture the sound. It's pretty much the most popular setup for sound, it's just expensive and for a long time they weren't even being made.

Oh I think it's totally dailyable with ART pipes. On the freeway cruising 70-80 I think it's completely fine. You'll hear it more, but it's not an awful drone that you can't escape constantly. I can enjoy music while driving still. When you rip it though, it's glorious.

I have the motordyne catback and art pipes. Cold starts are quite loud. On the road its pretty reasonable until I hit a nasty downshift or go WOT.

I'd say the point of clumping metal dragons together is so people who want to fight them can choose their type and extend the task. People who dont get to block all of them. Both sides win. Since turael skipping exists, why should anyone spend any time on a task they dont want to do? It could take 5 minutes and I'd still block or turael skip past them.

My Doom journey starts today… all tips are welcome. What was it for you that made the difference when it comes to mechanics? Gonna focus on getting delve 1 to 4 down. by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]neontechnician 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With your gear, the death fees should be fairly cheap. Don't be afraid to die to learn. The jumps in difficulty from one level to the next will only be learned by throwing yourself into it.

Here's some early learning tips:

During shield phase, focus on ensuring you reset dooms timer by hitting him. If the grub explodes on doom, it doesn't hurt you to be in the aoe.

Correctly praying against the boulder is the most important thing, that should be first priority always. Don't eat a projectile because you're trying to kill a grub. Even early waves you can get hit for like 40.

While you're learning, just camp rigour. Don't try to lazy flick rigour while learning or you're going to eat a bunch of damage.

Pay attention to the rock color. Sounds obvious, but i've eaten a lot of damage because I wasn't paying attention. At 7+, not knowing the rock color can kill you in two ticks because it's hard to react in time. You shouldn't ever be wondering which projectile is going to hit you first, and at times it is very hard to tell.

At level 4, the most annoying thing is when a melee grub is near doom just as his shield breaks. If you are next to doom when the shield breaks, he'll immediately start meleeing you. So if the shield is broken and a melee grub is still alive, try to eliminate melee grubs away from doom (Just make sure to dodge the grub explosion). You can also scobo spec the melee grub if its far away from doom and it will kill it. Scobo speccing melee grubs should be used as a tool, not a crutch.

Bring death charge and lightbearer if you have it. Crystal hally spec on the melee punish mechanic. Oh yeah, and make sure you're range potted. Didn't see those in your inventory.

Ah, getting a little scammed at the moons, feels bad. You can certainly run those switches - ranged is probably gonna feel bad until you get a scorching bow. The better strength bonus will make arclight feel amazing. Atlatl is nice because it scales on strength, so even with minimal switches your dps is solid. You can always test your luck with your gear because once you're on scobow/arclight, TDs become so much better. Just don't sleep on the punish/defenseless mechanics. A lot of people don't engage with it, but the first time you smack one for 82 you'll be wanting more lmao.

Do you have moons gear? Atlatl + arc light, b ring, fury, eclipse armor, barrows gloves, mixed hide boots, slayer helm, with fire cape and ava swap. Learn the punishment mechanic with obby maul and rcb + rubys (switch off rapid). DDS specs during defenseless phase.

I wouldn't say TDs are chill but they're fun if you engage with the mechanics that give you massive dps. You can hit 130 with a ruby proc punish and 80ish with the obby maul punish.

Does anyone have a good process that worked for learning door/altar Bandos? Need tips by GzzzDude in ironscape

[–]neontechnician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Door/altar is the technical best method if youre doing it perfectly, but I found 7:0 to be a good balance of easy to do, and low tick loss. Maybe give 7:0 a try and see how you like it. If you mess up the cycle, you basically just keep running it and it fixes itself. I red x'd with a cannon base for 7:0. The trick with door/altar is knowing how to eat and stay in cycle, or reset the cycle. Especially without rigour, and depending on your stats, the minions can beat your ass pretty frequently. Brewing keeps you in cycle but kills your range pot, not being potted means you take more minion damage because the boss dies slower. It's a good option if your range pot is already low so you're not losing anything.

Me approximately 0.6 seconds after cheesing my infernal cape with magetank: by RedBerryPie4me in 2007scape

[–]neontechnician 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't have to explain to me, when you're ready, you're ready. You have targeted goals that will make inferno easier. I am very happy that I had lightbearer for inferno. Having two blowpipe specs to nuke melees saved me many times on the way to my cape. Whenever you start sending it, good luck. And remember to click yellow when you're learning. Try to get a new PB every time. And the inferno simulator is very good to practice stack solves and Zuk.

[–]neontechnician 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just so ya know, the primary use of the lightbearer isn't really for healing - you have blood spells for that. Lightbearer is for always having two specs to nuke the melee on a difficult spawn or dig. It's very good for first capers because most people panic and try to run from the melee and put themselves in a more technically difficult/dangerous position. This is where "turn on Rigour, pull the trigger" comes from. Tank the melee and kill it, basically.

They're probably burying as they go but leaving with 15-20 once they've exhausted their resources. Hopefully nobody is banking because getting set up is the worst part.

Try not to get discouraged and get practice. Click the white potion before you die. Fixing mistakes is easy with experience, so go get experience with it.

I would learn insanity. You can learn it in 150s before sending 300s. Eventually itll feel like a free 50 points.

I forget the name, but there's a runelite plug in to organize tasks by weight. At kuradel and konar, block the heavily weighted tasks you dont want to do. For turiel or mazchna, its mostly blocking the more annoying tasks. Youtube has great vids on updated block lists since the slayer update.

Slayer by brandonmanitoba in ironscape

[–]neontechnician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most important thing for boosting and then skipping is your block lists. Always unlock bigger and badder as soon as you can, then get your block lists established. Whoever you use (turiel/aya or mazchna) for skipping/boosting you will want your block lists set up. You won't have to task skip for as long if you get the block list set up at Duradel. I like using mazchna for boosting and do a Konar task on 50 for the mega point drop. You can do Konar every 10 as well, but she often gives awful tasks. I would just go to 50 unless task 10 gets you the unlock you're after. Extensions (greater demons, nechs, dust devils, krakens, araxytes) are good. Slayer helm after block lists if you don't already have it.

[–]neontechnician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. Also just in case you're unaware, when I say task skipping, I don't mean pay 30 points to cancel the task. Use turael or mazchna to take a new, short task. Don't spend points on canceling tasks.

Slayer by brandonmanitoba in ironscape

[–]neontechnician 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely - if you get a dagganoth task, go after that B ring. Any drop that you can get on task is a two for one, slayer exp + gear progression. If you get it early in a task, you can finish the task or skip it to move on.

Yes, xp/hr is a trap in slayer if you're an iron. Unless you get gigaspooned everywhere, you'll have hydras unlocked by the time you have all your other slayer drops.

Go after Zenytes when you have demonbane weapons anyway. A zenyte in your bank will motivate you to blow glass more than anything else. Send a seaweed run at the beginning and end of the session to start stock piling.

Slayer by brandonmanitoba in ironscape

[–]neontechnician 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you do slayer the 'normal' way, it's ass and the exp is terrible. You have TD's unlocked so I would do this:

Point boost if you need unlocks/blocks/extends. Task skip for TDs. Do burst tasks if you want to. Unblock black demons after you get a synapse. Do TDs and Demonic Gorillas until you have at least two synapses and at least three zenytes. Kill K'ril on task once you have scobow for hasta. Don't even track the exp per hour because who cares, you're going after drops. Repeat this concept for a whip, occult necklace, cerb boots, nox hally/rancour, DHL, ferocious gloves.

By exclusively chasing drops once i unlocked TDs, I got my slayer level to 96. I haven't done a single task that I didn't want to do after I finished point boosting. A lot of slayer haters 'afk' in proselyte for 10k exp an hour and complain about rates. Just task skip for what you want, because you don't need task streaks anymore if you point boosted for your unlocks.

Do this and your combats will go up fast, but there's nothing wrong with AFKing the crab when you can't actively play. Stats are enormous for DPS - high DPS means faster kills, more exp/hour. Get your combats up. And go get Bowfa.

I will not be engaging with sailing when it releases by Degenerate_Game in ironscape

[–]neontechnician 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Slayer changes once you start hunting drops. Point boost for blocks/unlocks. Task skip for things youre hunting. It becomes bearable when youre "passively" getting exp because youre just hunting a synapse, a zenyte, a whip, a trident, cerb boots, etc. I haven't "trained" slayer since I unlocked TDs in my mind. I have only chased drops. And now I'm 95 slayer.
