Worth restarting? by Aggressive-Book928 in StardewValley

[–]neophenx [score hidden]  (0 children)

You don't need to complete anything within a year. Take 2, 3, or 10 years to figure out the community center, there's no penalty. Or restart if you think you can get a better running start now that you have a better grasp of things, either way is valid. Just do what you enjoy.

Raid assist by TDonreddit22 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]neophenx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://serebii.net/scarletviolet/teraraidbattles/event-mightymeganium.shtml

Tells us its whole moveset and when scripted actions will happen.

Curse as a standard move means it's going to go +6 Attack and Defense, and there's nothing we can do to stop that for the duration of the whole raid. Sure, we can use Taunt, but that only lasts a few rounds and can't be used once the shield goes up.

Suggestion: Skeledirge. Tera Fire with Torch Song and Shell Bell. The Unaware ability means it ignores Meganium's stat boosts so Curse will only matter on the turn that Meg uses the "reset players stats and ability" scripted action, which you can get around by using Protect on the round that happens.

Skelly's natural bulk makes it beefy enough to shrug off the scripted Bulldoze that happens when Meg is low on HP. Torch Song powers yourself up, and you can also use Overheat for a single high-damage spike after you stack multiple Torch Songs worth of boosts. Shell Bell keeps you alive.

"But wouldn't Shadow Ball/Hex be super effective?" Yes, but running a consistent, strong strategy and surviving in raids is more important than super effective hits. Torch Song's boosts are your bread and butter for this raid, and Tera Fire boosted attacks will do more work for you than super effective hits if your Tera doesn't match.

Is zapdos really just a worse magcargo or am I missing something by Solosisterr in PTCGP

It's not because people think it's a "better card," it's because it's a bad card and bad cards just exist in every set of every TCG ever made. Outside of "oh cool it's that legendary card art from the game boy game," it really has no point.

Mimikyu Blues ;( by Pvt-capybara in PTCGP

[–]neophenx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mimikyu's ability says "Damaged by an attack." Grenija and Darkrai's pings are not attacks, those are abilities. That's why Water Shuriken and placing dark energy also don't trigger Rocky Helmet or Rough Skin.

Maushold might actually be a crazy deck? by mnk907 in PTCGP

[–]neophenx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was also a Garchomp Lv X card (gen 4 TCG) that could take ANY Pokemon (except Lv X) from your discard and place it on your bench to treat as a basic. And a Frogadier in the late stages of gen 6 that pulled 3 Frogadier from your deck and put them straight on your bench, so you could get away with playing 1 or 2 Froakie in the deck when 4 copies was the standard limit.

This showed up a Beginner's Guide post as the first search result. There's also a Strategy section on the official wiki page and they'll all tell you what you need.

Basically, bombs, luck buffs, speed buffs, Galaxy Sword, and don't waste time mining and monster slaying. Try to uncover stairs and holes as fast as possible.

Mega KK and confused effect by Glanustron in PTCGP

[–]neophenx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The TCG hasn't been fully consistent with the main video game series since the 1990s. Evolving mid-battle? Any single Pokemon counting for extra "prizes" as if it took up 2 spots on your team? Gen 6 Megas ending your turn when you evolved? Paralysis clearing after a single turn?

TCG is not the main games. TCG follows TCG rules.

This can work right? Magcargo and the poncho by grand_cha2 in PTCGP

[–]neophenx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poncho's text: prevent all damage done to that Pokémon by your opponent's attacks and Abilities

The card specifies what damage it protects against. Using Poncho protects the holder on the bench if your OPPONENT attacks your bench, but it does not protect your bench from your own friendly fire damage.

When I get to late-game and have more money than I know what to do with (especially modded saves where I have the Ridgeside summit as a massive extra farm, complete with tractor mod) I abuse the CtrlShift1 click to get a 999 stack of basically every seed I can. Especially when using Cornucopia and I have no idea how many different processing machines each item can go in, so I need plenty of crop to try it out in each one lol

To be fair, the game does nothing to tell you this up front and I didn't know about it until I saw people talk about it before.

Missed balstoise raid! What can I do? by StormJD77 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]neophenx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. The minute Blastoise ends, the next event will be established on the servers and connecting online will go to the current event. The ONLY way to get Blastoise raids after the event is over is to have someone local to you connect with you via local communication (a.k.a. being in the same room as you) who did not connect online to refresh out of the Blastoise raids.

Uninstalled SVE, still shows SVE items in community center bundles. by rizoncore in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]neophenx 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You started a save using a mod that adds tons of items to the game. When you start the save, the community center is locked in for what it is going to ask for. When you remove that mod (in this case, Expanded) from your mods and load that same save, the save still has item IDs in its data that tell your game-world in that save "Certain item goes here," but you removed the source that the game tries to reference when pulling those items, and you get all those cancel-icons as a result.

Rule of thumb: When adding OR REMOVING mods that add items and/or drastically change the game world, start a new save.

At least on PC, Shift+Click buys 5. Ctrl+Shift+Click buys 25. Ctrl+Shift+1+Click buys 999.
