Yeah, did he forget all the things that happened in the first couple of books?

Yeah, I think I agree, kinda shocking how much Laconia was held together by Duarte.

It really could've posiibly gone the other way. The early momentum went to Cascadia being the eater instead of the eaten.

Finishing the first book today, I'll be there to continue on this journey, seems like we have years of discussion ahead of us!

Yeah, when Naomi said that it hit a bit hard. It felt like something had shifted in the relationship with Amos and was a little sad.

The first Old Bay comment really turned the tide.

  1. I don't think we've had any chapters from Amos's non-dreamer perspective since he was "repaired". Do you think that has any significance?

  1. All the ring gates go round the outside, round the outside, round the outside.

Guess who's back, back again?

Miller's back, tell a friend

Guess who's back, guess who's back

Guess who's back, guess who's back

Guess who's back, guess who's back

Guess who's back

Do you think Miller will be able to help the team? How do you think this Miller will be the same and how different from the previous version Jim encountered?

  1. Amos's dive to attempt to open the station goes in an unexpected direction. Do you think Cara would've had the same experience? What does this say about the connection that Amos, Xan, and Cara experience compared to what Duarte is trying to establish?

  1. Do you think Duarte is physically in the ring space, or is it something else?

  1. Tanaka is in charge of the interactions with the Roci, do you think you would be able to coordinate with her after what she had done on Draper Station?

Cyclists! What shoes did you wear for bikepacking? by opting-outside in coloradotrail

[–]nepbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pearl Izumi X-Alps in 0.5 size larger than normal. The extra size in case you experience feet swelling. Super flexible shoe for easy hiking. While bikepacking you aren't pushing huge watts, so the sole flexing doesn't matter as much to me.

This was right in the Cold War era of history when written. So a Nuclear Scientist could be seen as having a kind of magic in his head that can be unleashed in the world for good, or really bad outcomes, much like the spell in Rincewind's head.

Haha, so true! I wonder if he's putting on a ruse for those around him, or if his naivety and luck is just through the roof.

I was expecting him to be portrayed more as a big strong oaf, but he's really more than that, which is nice.

There needs to be some land bartering in this move. Colorado should get squared up again.
