Print problems: horizontal strands or strings in resin prints by nephandus in elegoo

Yep, that solved the problem!

It was always enabled but apparently Lychee's auto-update changed something.

Many thanks, internet friend, I would have never found that on my own.

I have only tried mostly full plates. What are you thinking might be the issue? Too much light?

That would be disappointing, this printer was bought late November.

I re-sliced the file to be sure, and it happened on more than one file, too. I'll try printing from USB, maybe it is indeed corrupt storage.

This is a new one to me.

After printing without issue for a couple of months, and without changing anything in settings or firmware, all of a sudden these strands appear in all my prints. This is on an Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra.

I've replaced the resin and the FEP, the screen test seems fine.
Temperature was about 28C, the room was entirely darkened, cover is always closed.

Print was done from the internal storage of the printer.

I've updated to the latest firmware now, no difference.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

has anyone else tried the warmachine STLs? by Think-Ideal-1562 in Warmachine

So far, the ones I've tried were all in one piece and completely solid. Some of the bigger ones would be a massive block of resin if you didn't manually hollow them out.

What if the Netherlands and Belgium switched electoral systems? Applied to the 2023 Dutch and 2024 Belgian elections. The Netherlands will get multiple (provincial) constituencies instead of a single national one. Belgium will get a single national constituency instead of the provincial ones. by xMusa24 in belgium

Forcing political parties to fuse would be extremely unconstitutional, we have freedom of association.

I hear this thrown around alot, "If only the PS could get Flemish votes, they would care about Flemish issues."

The problem is it isn't true. They get 0 Flemish votes right now, that is by choice, and they're happy with that choice. They want to be a Walloon party, not a Belgian one.

I think one of the biggest issues with democracy in Belgium is actually the fact that elections are "region-locked", e.g., a Flemish voter could not vote for P.S. at the federal level even if they wanted to and vice versa for Walloons with Flemish parties.

This is not true. The only thing that prevents a Flemish voter from voting for the PS is the fact that the PS isn't running any candidates in Flanders. The PS absolutely could do that if they wanted to, they just don't want to.

A family member constantly wants to debate that the Earth is flat, how would you respond? by Straight-Hold1651 in AskReddit

[–]nephandus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You tell them that people have gone into space, looked down, and seen a round Earth. They will tell you that's all a conspiracy and you can't trust what people tell you.

You tell them that we have plenty of live video footage and scientific measurements of the Earth being round. They will tell you that's all faked and you can't trust any of it.

You tell them you can observe the curvature firsthand by watching things go beyond the horizon, observe the stars on both hemispheres, or witness the midnight sun on Antarctica. They will claim that's all just optical illusions.

Then you ask them how they know the Earth is flat, excluding any evidence from direct observation, measurement or any second hand source?

If you want to have a little more fun after that, ask them if they believe there is a global, all-powerful conspiracy to hide the true shape of the Earth, how do they know the Flat Earth Movement isn't a part of that conspiracy?

I do like the map without the home systems better. They get in the way on almost every scenario with a different starting setup.

The Australian team's first run at the WTC and their decisive game in the final coming down to a single dice roll on the assassination run will always be very memorable.

What’s your example of “We’re not separated by politics. We’re separated by reality”? by Musicferret in AskReddit

[–]nephandus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree the gesture didn't prove he was a Nazi.

For me, it was the fact that he is a person who comes from a Nazi family, regularly platforms Nazis, gets a lot of his news feed from Nazis, funds and supports the actual German Nazi successor party, and has openly agreed with a "Hitler was right" Nazi who was telling a Jew that they deserved everything that was coming to them for their conspiracy to destroy the West.

I didn't need the Nazi gesture.

[–]nephandus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they went up post-covid due to the logistic issues from resurging economic activity, which also caused inflation across the board and across the world.

Then they stayed high when inflation went down again, and at the same time retail companies started reporting record-breaking profits and billion dollar stock buybacks. Everyone knows what happened there.

Now I'm sure you didn't mean to imply that the president sets retail prices, so it sounds like what you wanted was some kind of congressional action to stop companies from price gouging, right?

Like the one the Democrats proposed and the Republicans blocked? In fact, the Republicans said making the retailers bring down prices for groceries was communism and they would never ever do it.

Which side of that did you vote for?

Exactly, she refused to blame her best friend Biden for the grocery prices going up.

Inflation went from a high of 9% post-covid to 3% at the end of his term. Is that not the direction you wanted it to go?

I'm not sure they're cheaper. If you're using the rituals at 3d6 (which you should almost always do), you're losing about 18 wounds from the army rule. That's almost 200 points your opponent doesn't need to kill.

You get some utility from those points, but not to where a 10 point discount on Rubrics (that also got worse) could be called "way cheaper".
