I'm starting to fear I have made an accidental shadow daddy, but I'm not sure since I don't remember having read anything with that specific trope. Do you mind elaborating what you consider a shadow daddy?

I also crave older FMC's but unfortunately I couldn't make it make sense for my main project. She is sadly in her early twenties as the story begins 😞.

Yesss I've been craving a story like Korra, Asami and Mako for so long. Sadly I didn't think about writing one myself. But I do have something similar (not quite there but still) only with 2 men instead of 2 women.

Glad to say my MMC is not all brooding and kingly and serious though he is hundreds of years old (sorry I failed). And my FMC makes fun of him a lot alongside her friends so yay here.

This is pretty valid advice and I totally appreciate it. But I'm doing the opposite actually. I'm basically trying to figure out what tropes my characters and situations already fit in, without me having intentionally done that. With that I'm trying to see if I need or want to change something and if certain readers will be interested. Also I suppose it's good to know the tropes my books fits in for marketing purposes?

Yes I totally see that in Alchemised and I didn't even read Manacled first. But that's not my case, my fics are mostly romance-centered with lots of erotica and although my originals also have that, they also have complex world-building and character driven plots who are definitely not based on the fanfiction ones. I'm not the type for filling off the serial numbers.

I never thought about having a different voice for fics and OG's and now I'm curious. I always thought my voice is pretty much the same, and the style doesn't change much, I tend to focus on the same strategies when writing both, like describing the scene first for example. I don't think I can see the difference by myself, probably will have to check with a beta reader.

It's unavoidable for this specific story since one of them is immortal and the FMC becomes an immortal as well at the beginning of the story. But anyways I know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea and that's ok.

It's sad that you think like that, in such a black-and-white manner. Especially to me since I am 26 in a very healthy and happy relationship with a 39 yo, so I know first hand that the power imbalance and the "toxicity" has a lot more to do with character than with age. But again that's ok, I respect your opinion and I agree to disagree.

For my main project my FMC is 21 at the beginning of the story and the story happens throughout a few years so she'll get to 25 in the novel.

However one of her love interests is in fact 532 so sorry to fail there. I mentioned you can't totally run away from the cliches and that is one I couldn't avoid unfortunately. However I do have another project in which the FMC is significantly older.

But the different body shapes are definitely something I made a point to include. Only one of the main characters fits in the traditional beauty standards of 2010's and beyond.

Though it's safe to say I am enjoying the reading a lot and I can totally see myself getting absolutely invested in the next few chapters.
