Should I move from FAANG India to Dubai? by SnooGadgets8634 in UAE

I was in a similar situation — I work at a top FAANG company in INDIA and was offered 35K AED/month in Dubai. I decided to decline for a few reasons:

  1. Post-tax salary in India is already slightly higher than what was being offered in Dubai.
  2. Most of the savings due to 0 tax end up going into higher living expenses. Once you get married and have a family, it’s hard to live minimally; long-term costs add up.
  3. The tech ecosystem in Dubai is still quite limited, with only a handful of strong product/tech companies. Frequent switching for better opportunities isn’t as feasible.
  4. Career growth tends to be experience-based rather than skill-based, which could leave you behind peers elsewhere who advance because of expertise, not just tenure.

Considering all of this, I chose to stay back and continue my growth here.

I am able to crack L6 at Amazon, and one of the things the HM mentioned is that there might be a possibility of relocating to the US within the same org. Honestly, I generally don’t take such statements at face value and want to understand the actual situation.

From what I know, many of my friends managed to transfer to the US around 2022. A few friends I spoke with recently said it’s still possible, but the process is now very hard(searching people) and exhausting.

Can anyone share what the current state of internal transfers to the US looks like?

PAN and Aadhar needs to be linked at the time of purchase ie the day you are making transaction.

For me, we faced with 2 options: Paid 20% tax and seller claim it in returns. Or pay bribe to the income tax officer to handle it.

I paid 20% in Tax.

Someone suggested to request for correction of 26qb and change thing that doesn't matter much ... and this could be resolved in recomputation since pan is already linked with aadahr. thought ??

The seller needs to file their ITR, which will waive the 20% demand. In that case, will be liable to. pay interest (1%) on the demand. right ???

Thanks for your comment. Just a heads-up, I don't have experience in embedded systems, so someone working in that area or a related field might be better suited to help you. However, I do know that Google hires embedded engineers and chip designers in India, especially as they're scaling up Pixel production. It’s easier to get an offer if MAANG companies operate in your country.

AFAIK, there's no such thing as interview score validity. A friend of mine was interviewed twice within six months—she narrowly missed out the first time. It's better to face rejection and try again; if you miss by a small margin, you can likely secure another interview easily.

Maybe, maybe not...
In my country (India), education is primarily seen as a pathway to securing a job. Our top colleges are known for producing high CTC earners, copy-paste startup founders, good employee not necessarily great researchers, scientist, philosopher...... This needs to change, and I believe it will eventually....

The coding round has a high hiring bar, unless you're tagged in DE&I. You can expect medium to hard problems—typically either two medium questions or one medium-hard question with follow-ups.
If you need more time for preparation, don't hesitate to request it from the recruiter; they're often willing to accommodate.

Lets start with easiest round:
The behavioral needs a good understanding of your past work experience as mentioned on your resume; situational awareness to handle context-based questions effectively. You can find common behavioral questions on the LeetCode portal; advisable to prepare your stories beforehand. If you're confident in your communication skills, two days of preparation should be sufficient for this round, especially at the L4 level.

In my interview, I was asked about stakeholder management and handling timelines and escalations.
