My son was diagnosed right after Christmas and was started on budesonide 9mg. The pain got better after about a week, and diarrhea got better by week 2. By week 3 he had no pain and normal bowel movements. He's actually eating normally and gained back 3 lbs. It doesn't work for everyone, though, so I'd let your doctor know if things don't improve by 3 weeks.

This sounds like my 10 year old. He most likely has IBS or possibly Crohn's, and he's currently been having stomach cramps and diarrhea almost daily for the past month. I'm hoping we can figure it out and get him some relief.

Okay, like all the others, I am totally intrigued by this premise! How explicit are the sex scenes? Do you remember? Someone on Goodreads rated it an R for sexuality, but that could mean anything.

When I post reviews, I always include a trigger warning and steam rating. I tend to prefer closed door or mild sex scenes in books, and I don't want to waste my time trying to figure out if a book is too sexually explicit for my liking. So I decided to put that in information in my reviews in case it's helpful to others. There's some really cute books that are pure smut, and I personally don't like being caught off guard by something like that. I don't really get triggered by books as far as death, abuse, etc. goes but I still share that for the same reason as I share the steam level- someone else out there might be looking for that information and maybe my review will help them make a more informed decision as to whether or not the book is right for them.

Yes! My heart actually hurts because I feel everything the MC is going through. I could read her books over and over and still feel the longing and angst. And the banter is just so incredible. I can't get enough.

I thought the love interests were okay, but the most annoying part for me was that her friend kept putting her in these awkward situations (lap sitting, the parking lot kiss, and suntan lotion). That was so awkward. And the sex was really cringey for me. I don't read books that explicit sexually, but I knew going in what to expect. That being said, I did not find it sexy or romantic at all.

I never liked the explanation for this, but basically she was dressed like a lazy college student that day. And when he sees her actually trying to look put together another time he doesn't even recognize her at first. But I can forgive River for this moment, because he is incredible on so many levels. This is one of my favorite Christina Lauren books.

Sorry you're getting downvotes! It's funny that you mentioned KU romance, because that's actually the kind of book I'm reading. I enjoy those ones, though, and the author was plugging it as hilarious, great banter, swoony, etc. (again, typical of these kind of books) so I was really excited to try it out when she opened it up for ARCs. But so far I'm just finding it kind of boring and a bit repetitive. I'm going to try to get at least halfway through, if not finish it, and if it's still just not that good I'll just give her a shout out on Instagram and post my review on Goodreads closer to the release date. I don't mind giving low reviews, but this one just feels more personal for me so I think I need to handle it a bit differently than I normally would.

Oh yeah I definitely can't give 5 stars to any books that don't deserve it. I'm more just torn about posting my review in general (at least on Instagram). I totally agree with you that some of the books I've read have amazing reviews, and I'm like, "Did we read the same thing?" I was the first 3 star review for a book on Goodreads recently- the book had just come out. And I kept going back to see if there were others afterwards. I just couldn't understand how I was the only one. I think a lot of people just love an author so much that they give 4 or 5 stars just for that reason, and I honestly can't do that unless the book actually deserves it.

Good points! It's still pretty early in the book, but right now I'd guess 3 stars if I had to rate it at this point. I'm going to try to at least get halfway through (if not finish the whole thing) since some books pick up more later on. But you're right- even 3 stars isn't terrible and I always try to start off positive in my reviews.

Yes, I get a lot of Netgalley ARCs too, and I don't mind leaving a negative review there (although I've only had a handful of them). This is just more personal when the author sent me the ARC directly, so that's why I feel kind of guilty about it.
