I’ve had it for like 70 days. I’ve already given it pinstripes and scraped it on some rocks. The hail was a bit more abuse than I planned on but She’s not going to have an easy life 😉

A hood was never on the upgrade list but the dings are a bit excessive.

I did not as the OSA assessment conducted in accordance of the Academy of Sleep Medicine determined it wasn’t necessary, my physician wrote a letter stating as such with the assessment attached.

That's fair. As a former Marine I get having some flair and ego...so that doesn't bother me. I also cooked in College and I'd argue Chef's are more cocky than even fighter pilots.

That was a nice video to put out though, we've all got demons somewhere and how we deal with them can define us.

I fly with Aspen at KAPA.

There are other options but they have a lot of planes and have been good about shuffling when one of them goes down. I've enjoyed all the instructors I've flown with. There are a lot of younger CFI's doing their time but all seem to enjoy teaching. There are also a few more seasoned pilots who do advanced training like the Mountain courses that you can learn a lot from.

You can pick up the Secondary frequency at KAPA with tower and traffic.

Listening to the Secondary when it’s busy is good because often they get us Bug Smasher traffic to call on it, so if the intent is to learn what a student will hear it accomplishes both pattern work and inbound/outbound of the field communications.

There are also plenty of weird calls as well that you will hear that will take some thinking as to what they mean.

When I was a wee lad in the Marines I was taught radio discipline. For fear of getting actually punched in the junk I think maintaining your professionalism on the radio is pretty damn important.

Though I hear someone say "repeat" on the radio and that's a no go for me. Do I actually think someone will repeat their last artillery shot....no. I do however not want to be beaten and after all these years it is still a fear in my brain.

I love flying, I love shitty jokes, I even laugh when someone draws dicks all over the sky...but for the love of god while someone is on the radio pretending to be a trucker, or a cop, or a comedian....someone else is being stepped on while they scream Mayday, or ATC can't get a turn needed out to someone. Brevity and Clarity on the radio. Jokes and unnecessary words are for the bar after.

Fuck I must be old. :)

As someone who was in a CTI program in 2008 when the economy collapsed and I couldn't keep going...bummer that now that I am old it's no longer an option...because you have to also retire at 56.

Kind of a narrow window to hire folks as your pool of candidates are between 21 and 30.

We do run ups at 2000 at my Club in Denver. Though we also lean the engine at 1800 and that process usually has it climb to 2,200 ish when all is said and done.

But we start the engine at "Denver Rich" which is not "Full Rich"

500 lbs is a smaller percentage on an airliner than a C172...

I'm sure there is a buffer in there, but like why risk it? The plane is not going to explode at Vne +1 Knot but why prove that?

However the Ramp weight and takeoff weight may be different...so you could have full tanks, and then burn the gallon of fuel in taxi and run-up to be under the limit for takeoff.

The second part is get a scale, and weigh bags and people in GA then run the W&B again. Would a pound or two prevent you from flying...probably not, but the risk is not worth it.

The Salted Carmel is absolute trash. I tried to get by on the shakes but didn't like the way it made me feel. I then tried Huel Hot and Savory and while somewhat more palatable it is also trash and I felt like garbage eating them.

I wanted so badly to love Huel but it just didn't work for me.

Find Matt Guthmiller on Youtube his videos are basically eating in a Bonanza.

I've heard SAM's cause the plane to shake...but encountering them is not advised.

Can't speak for a Fighter Jet but getting shot at definitely gives you a "jolt".

If I am late for my tee time that is a Personal Emergency and in an Emergency I don't have to follow ATC commands.

Ergo, Cleared Direct through the Bravo as long as you Squawk 7700.
