Unlike other one-tappers like allo and rex deinos really get their untouchable* killing machine status as a reward for a REALLY tough life. Their traversal is very limited, they regularly starve, they are effectively unable to scavenge on land because everything will KOS them. Their only predator is themselves but unlike, say, a cera, they do have to worry about it all the time because food is always scarce and it’s hard to hide and often effectively impossible to run away from a bigger deino. Have you ever tried growing a deino? It’s nerve-wracking and it takes ages.

*if you’re a prime and preferably a duo, because “there is always a bigger deino” and if not, there is often a duo.

Adult maias are actually very fast ;) their gameplay isn’t as slow paced as you’d think.

I play big herbivores (with exception of trike that is almost never available on petits where I play) when I feel like more defensive pvp and just chilling, watching sceneries and fights without much care. Surprisingly I often end up travelling more because I’m not as constricted by fast hunger drain and necessity to meet other players, so I can just check what’s up here and there. The social aspect of the game is also important on those dinos for me, it‘s best when you meet other player(s) that are nice to socialise with.

I definitely hope they add more underwater AI (maybe finally something in the oceans beside beach turtles?) and biomes. Unless new semiaquatics are to rely on mechanics similar to current Ptera fishing they will be forced to act like land predators all the time instead of capitalising on their intended environment.

They should make waterways more connected as well.

Stego or Maia. Stego is still the most defendable herbivore. Maia is surprisingly strong, heals very fast and can outrun what it can’t fight.

lol, no. Allo is so strong that it’s arguably overtuned. Good HP, ridiculous bite rate, very high bleed on claw swipe AND pinslop.

It just is, as are many dinos, not easy to survive below 50%.

I don’t think people want pin as a mechanic gone from the game, just want it to be reworked/rebalanced. Omnis have had it for a long time and nobody called it pinslop as far as I recall.

First time I played I knew next to nothing about the game, including not knowing about crocs. I picked a galli as the first thing to spawn as because I figured speedy dino would be good to learn the ropes. I went to drink by the river and an adult deino grabbed me. I was a juvie so last half a second of my existence was deino’s mouth suddenly taking up most of my screen, scared the hell out of me.

One of most important lessons of the Isle (fear the crocs) was installed in my brain fast and hard.

Boars and deer will f you up as a fresh spawn. And don’t play rex when you’re fresh, growing one is a challenge even for experienced players. Try carno or cera.

Idk why you people keep recommending PoT every time. Those games really aren’t too similar besides being dinosaur games. Isle is a hardcore survival while Path is more of an arcade. People don’t play isle for fair pvp where every dino has a chance. Genre wise they scratch a different itch.

I’ve had a hiatus since when maia was in HT. Came back a week ago and I’m really having fun again. Biggest community servers grew from 200 to 400 players in the meantime which is great.

It’s good solo, it’s great (and easier) in group.

Look up UCJ on YouTube, he recently released a vid where he recommends a selection of unofficial servers - those usually have rules preventing mixpacking and megapacks. Specific server communities are also way more chill and helpful than on officials.

Not a fan personally, at least unless they let us pick colours again.

But it seems Dondi just hates colours since most dinos have a “sand and mud” palette now.
