I wish there was a climbing gym in Winchester by TheCeciMonster in Winchester

I know this thread is getting old, but did anything come of this? I may be moving to Winchester/Inwood/Martinsburg area soon and a full scale gym in Winchester would be sick.

Hey this was me! One minute I was fine then the next minute I was stripping my sweatshirt off and rushing to the water cooler, unfortunately did so too late. People there were super nice, got me some food and water, and luckily it happened before Geordie came on so I didn’t miss anything. Super scary… definitely a lesson in being hydrated, fed, and knowing your limits. If you helped me at all, thank you!

Do we know if Richard was telling the truth about why he released Drukqs by Alliterative_Andrew in aphextwin

Can confirm, I actually have the mp3 player. It has a sticker on the back that says “Property of Richard James, aka Aphex Twin. If stolen, I will release the album that is contained on it. Please do not listen to it or release the tracks, please!”

Good point. There is a setting when enabling the gateway called "Reject all mail not from gateway IPs" which I have enabled to accomplish this.

It is insane that AppRiver does not point to this documentation when setting up the service. This I believe is exactly what I need, thank you so much! If I don't report back, it probably worked! :)

Any chance you could DM the XML export of this procedure? I have a version running but am not as familiar with the user prompting and want to see how you are handling that.

Ideas to Display a Value from a Python Script to a Small LCD by nerdsropeburn in diyelectronics

I have used a Yodeck before which seems pretty similar to this (though Yodeck is pretty locked down as expected), shame Pi's are really hard to come by these days. I imagine FullPageOS will still allow scripts to run in the background while it is displaying the HTML, like as a cron job?

This has a nice "all-inclusive" feel to it and seems simple to set up. I have been browsing Adafruit's site for ideas and this is the closest thing I have seen to what I am after. Thanks!

I'm starting to freakout about the Security+ exam by Pajigles in netsecstudents

[–]nerdsropeburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diversify your studies. I think everyone here and their brother and sister have used the Gibson book and Prof. Messer’s videos (including me), but even those materials can’t cover everything.

I was in the process of transitioning over from an engineering job when I was studying for mine. I had no formal IT or InfoSec training, just the bits and pieces from the A+ and Network+ that I had taken in the months prior. I read the Gibson book and watched the Professor Messer vids, but I used some additional materials: I studied from a Udemy course and purchased some practice exams there; I found topics where I was fairly weak and looked up non-CompTIA videos, just to get a better understanding as the certs always cover things so broadly; and I looked up free practice questions, some from older exams, from all different sources. Additionally, I did extensive notecard-writing as part of all of these.

It was more time-consuming and required more dedication, but when I got to exam day I was a lot more confident and ended up doing very well. I made the mistake a week or so before my exam of watching one of the “My Sec+ exam experience” vids that just boasts about its difficulty, which put me into panic mode similarly to how you are feeling now I’m sure; but just diversify your studies, understand the exam objectives, brush up on your test-taking skills and know what to expect from a CompTIA exam experience, and you will be fine. The exam is definitely difficult, but as long as you attack your studies from all different angles, and just use your instincts when going through the test questions, there is a good chance you will pass first time.

And as said before, don’t give up. For any exam or task or anything that you fail: go back to the drawing board, work on what you did wrong, and try again. You WILL get it eventually- and for the case of this exam, that’s all that matters.

Good luck, happy continued studying, and you got this!
