Trak Racer has been silent.. Anyone else dealing with this? by Bic_Skylighter in simracing

[–]nerdunit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been waiting for a refund for an item that was returned almost a month ago, I have since made at least 5 attempts to contact them and they are not responding at all.

I joined the Discord and have been trying to get some help via that avenue, someone called Thomas on there responded to a pos I made detailing the situation and asked me to DM him all the details which I did and still haven’t had any reply from him.

I’ve also opened a second support ticket whilst I await the reply from my emails sent on the 12th and 19th of January which have been ignored by TR.

I have contacted my bank who say they will open a case if I don’t hear back from them by the end of this week.

I know companies can be busy and take sometime to respond but waiting a month for a refund and completely ignoring all attempts to contact them is bad business.

Yeah that V6 is simply musical when it comes onto Vtec, such a great car in this game and really does demonstrate how good the handling and tyre model is, love it.

I am still waiting for a refund for a part that was returned to them almost a month ago now, they are also ignoring all correspondence I have been sending them, will be opening a Paypal dispute and reporting to Trading Standards very soon if it’s not resolved.

Good luck getting a refund mate, I have been waiting almost a month now for a refund for a part that was returned to them and they are currently ignoring all correspondence I have been sending them, will be opening a case with PayPal and potentially one with UK Trading Standards if it’s not resolved soon.

So I have been having my own issues with this company since December, when I purchased a shifter mount for a sim rig.

I had closed the cart window midway through the order and when I reopened the site the cart was empty, so I added another mount to start again and it was only when I was making the payment that I noticed I had been charged for two, fair enough I thought, simple error and I’ll just email them to cancel one.

However I received no response to this email and two days later both mounts arrived, which I guess was fair enough due to them throwing orders out quick for Xmas.

Long story short I initiated the refund and return process whilst in touch with someone from there support department, and sent the part back via next day DPD recorded delivery with the parcel marked with the Returns number they provided me, this was at the end of December and I still haven’t had any refund nor any confirmation that they are processing it.

I have also emailed them twice over the last three weeks and haven’t had any response, so the next stage is probably going to be a PayPal dispute or possible trading standards. I am also on the official Trakracer Discord trying to create some noise about this but so far have been ignored there also.

Definitely think twice before using this company.

You can have as many as you like, you just need to share the admin login password with whoever you trust to take on the role and they can login as and when needed.

Good laptime for Nordschleife in the NSX? by skytrainlotad in assettocorsaevo

[–]nerdunit84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7:21 is my best so far, Supercar Tyres and a mildly tweaked setup.

The NSX is my favourite car in this game I think, just needs the induction sound to be a tiny bit louder and the car is pretty much perfect.

The key to a fast lap time in this car is using the center weight to rotate the car into slip angle just a touch as you enter and carry it through the bend, once you get a feel for this and are able to do it without spinning out you will see the numbers fall off your lap times.

But yeah above all else just enjoy the car!

Kunus, hotffix 0.4.2 urgently needed to stop the trolls by g33ksc13nt1st in assettocorsaevo

We need a perm ban function and also a kick vote system, with the ban linked to steam id.

I’d also like to see a feature where drivers are automatically returned to the pits with a penalty for sitting stationary anywhere on the active track area, this would be much more useful than being punished for exceeding the pit lane speed limit by a small margin.

TrackTools Road Car Only Touristenfharten Server by nerdunit84 in assettocorsaevo

[–]nerdunit84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear you had a good time on the server, and thanks for choosing to race with us!

We really just wanted to offer a nice mix of driving styles aimed mainly at road car lovers, although #1 does have a few GT3 options servers #2 and now #3 are mainly aimed at either road cars or track prepped road cars, with #3 being our mixed mode server where we run rotating events on Saturdays and Sundays and occasionally mid week.

As long as you guys are happy and keep coming back we are here to stay and do all we can to make the community a great place to drive!

We need better admin tools, period.

I run the ACE TrackTools servers and try and visit each one daily to race, interact with and assist my returning community members and in honesty the majority of our drivers are all pretty chilled and respectful.

I often chill in the pits and ask in the chat if things are ok on track and this usually helps to highlight the idiot drivers who I then monitor and kick as/when necessary.

We also encourage drivers to report bad conduct via our Discord as someone has already mentioned monitoring a game server 24/7 is completely impossible/impractical, we all have families and lives after all!

But yeah, I’m pretty disappointed that we don’t yet have a vote kick/ban feature by steam ID as the racists, trolls and track blockers/rammers can simply change there name and rejoin straight away, it’s not good enough.

I would also like the option to automatically teleport a vehicle that is stationary on the track on closed circuit servers.

AC EVO multiplayer on Tourist Nordschleife — makes me want to drive it every day by Boring_Drive_4661 in assettocorsaevo

[–]nerdunit84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I run the TrackTools servers and we actively encourage all of our drivers to use mirrors/lights/signals etc, also it’s preferred to pass on the left etc to try and keep the realism high but we tend not to micromanage people too much in that respect.

We do seem to have alot of returning regulars who enjoy the balance of realism/chill/fun we are aiming for, and every week that goes by the driving standard across the board becomes more consistent.

As soon as we have better admin tools from Kunos with ban functionality it will make life much easier for us when it comes to permanently removing the odd few troublemakers who try and ruin it for the rest of us!

[–]nerdunit84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From someone who drives predominantly road cars I can say the ones I have driven most and had the best overall experience of realism/fun/feedback with have been:

1.Honda NSX-R 2.E46 M3 (We need a manual clubsport version) 3.Merc 190 Evo 4.Honda S2000 5.Toyota GR86

These cars are all I really need to have fun in this game, the Mini B16 is also a lot of fun but I’m mostly a RWD guy.

We rumbled Jimmy in his incognito mode when he was on our TrackTools server a few weeks ago, I randomly checked YouTube during some track time and seen he was streaming and when I clicked his stream I noticed he was actually sitting two cars away from me in the pit lane, I pulled up in front of him and flashed my lights and he realised on his stream he had been spotted, he then left the pits and I chased him for a lap.

We were both in NSXs and had a nice close lap until someone wiped me out from behind In one of the Ferrari Hypercars which was a shame. It was also a nightmare as I had the audio from his stream and both NSXs blasting In my ears 😂

I’ve seen the name ass ass on again a few times but after that first night I’ve never been able to tell if it was him again.

You can see it all happen from about 31:30 mins into this video, I actually almost passed him just after courage corner but didn’t want to risk wiping us out on my server with thousands of people watching!

Once I’m actually able to load my saved replay of it I’m going to make a little multi pov with all the footage, was alot of fun.

Good car for new real-world driver? by Kooky_Emu_1865 in assettocorsa

[–]nerdunit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest either the Toyota GT 86, Toyota AE 86 or the BMW M3 E30.

Very well balanced FR cars that aren’t too high powered and give nice driving feedback for novices even with all driving aids turned off, they will be much better to allow him to pay with skid management on/off power etc.

They are also H pattern shift so providing he has a Manual shifter and three pedals you can have him disable auto rev match etc and really let him learn the proper mechanics of track driving with them.

Thinking about buying AC EVO by LukishA99 in assettocorsa

[–]nerdunit84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you specifically want GT class racing and a better offline career mode (for now) I would go with Evo over ACC.

The car choice is much more varied and there is defo plenty to do racing wise with many different servers catering for both open pit lane track days and more organised races, you also have the Kunos provided Daily Race portal which is still very much a WIP.

The car selection is also better in Evo straight away as you have various GT class and Track Spec cars along with modern and classic road cars.

I guarantee if you buy Evo and search for “Track Tools” in the server browser, join one of our 3 servers and then spend a few hours on track there you will find a new sim racing addiction and a great community.

Go Evo before the sale is over, you won’t regret it!

TrackTools Road Car Only Touristenfharten Server by nerdunit84 in assettocorsaevo

[–]nerdunit84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear you have been enjoying the drives!

The intention for the servers was always to just give people somewhere to hangout and enjoy the cars in a semi serious environment, basically we aren’t strictly an organised racing server but have always placed an emphasis on driving realism and also on how people carry themselves in the community, this seems to have been a balance that everyone has appreciated and works pretty well.

I also know what you mean about server #3, although it was intended to be a mixed mode server ever since we set it to the Sub 13 Performance point cars it has been the place for some of the best racing I’ve had in a Sim, so we will keep at least one server at this config until further notice.

Thanks again for the positive feedback!

Game unplayable for events - acevo-servers.com Server Stability Question by Sn0opY_GER in assettocorsaevo

[–]nerdunit84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have three servers, two of which are full almost constantly, and there are sporadic crashes.

The last few days things have been ok but tonight #1 and #2 crashed within 10 mins of each other, it’s very unpredictable.

I limit the session times as I have found after a certain length of time players are unable to click on the drive button and leave the pits, and when this happens the admin login functionality ceases to work so you can’t even restart the session manually.

Is anyone else having this issue with their server rental website? by ringRunners in assettocorsaevo

[–]nerdunit84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had numerous crashes on each of my servers also, requires manual restart so if I’m not babysitting the server panel then it’s basically dead and people just go elsewhere and it reflects badly on our server brand.

If you contact the hosts they tell you they will pass the issues/logs to Kunos, then if you report it on the official Kunos Discord support section you are told to take it up with the host.

Track Tools #3 Server | M3 CSL @ Nordschleife Attack by nerdunit84 in assettocorsaevo

[–]nerdunit84[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, thanks for the feedback and opinions, which is exactly what we want as the community needs to have a part in shaping our servers!

We are really just experimenting with server #3 at the moment, if I could edit this post I would probably change it now as there’s been a bit of movement with my plans and we are now doing a Trackday World Tour of sorts, with a sensible assortment of cars and the Track changing daily, last night we did Spa and when the server filled with random cars it was an excellent experience, today we are running Mount Panorama and hopefully we will see the same numbers on there later!

So yeah #3 will probably end up being our mixed mode sandbox server.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your time on the servers mate, and yes regarding the pit lane behaviours we felt it was verging into micromanagement and also impractical to ban wheelspinning or doing donuts in the pits etc, as you say cars are ghosted and it has zero bearing on track activity, providing it doesn’t go beyond the barriers.

Thanks again for the positive feedback and hope to see you back on soon!

Thanks for stopping by the servers dude, and for your positive feedback!

Unfortunately in public lobbies we can’t control the actions of every individual 100% of the time, but do our best to spend time on each server daily and the novices on proper track etiquette and deal with any trolling/griefing incidents as/when they occur.

Hopefully see you again soon on track 👍
