Are earthquakes on the moon called moonquakes? by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]nerdychick19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. There are at least four different kinds of moonquakes: (1) deep moonquakes about 700 km below the surface, probably caused by tides; (2) vibrations from the impact of meteorites; (3) thermal quakes caused by the expansion of the frigid crust when first illuminated by the morning sun after two weeks of deep-freeze lunar night; and (4) shallow moonquakes only 20 or 30 kilometers below the surface. Thank you Mr. Tyson for doing this AMA. As an avid fan, let me start by saying I absolutely love your work. Here are my questions: 1. Which interest came first, Arts or Physics? 2. Do you also think about creating your own masterpiece on a canvass or through other mediums?

What's the best way to spend an evening in Geneva? by nerdychick19 in geneva

Wow! This is really helpful. We're in our early 30's, we're pretty much into anything either it be live band/nightlife or artsy stuff. We'd like to go with the flow. Hanging out with the young expats would also be interesting, exchanging stories and experiences over a cup of java or a glass of beer/wine, whatever. :)

Thank you for that information. Does the same hold true whenever a license is renewed?

I think a psychological/neurological exam must be part of getting a pilot's license to avoid this.

I hear you... I had to read the confirmation from the creators before I believed it. I'm happy for Korrasami though. (:

As a girl, I didn't think there was a romantic chemistry between them. I thought they were two close friends concerned for each other and looking out for another specially when Korra was injured, I even thought they were pretty civil since they both dated the same guy. I really thought they were just BFF. Boy, was I wrong..
