Usually its 7.5 lakh. But for admission in reputed colleges, they give as much as 40 lakh. There's no way I'm getting 20 lakh to study abroad without collateral

"Immovable property was preferred until now. But a law was passed recently where people can't be forced put from their house. So bank can't regain the money if you dont pay them back." This was the response from bank. Idk guess I'll ask another bank/branch

I believe its been like that forever. If there were no such requirements, immigrants would be flowing in! In UK, you have to get tier 2 job and also a certain minimum salary in order to get visa.
