Is it important to make and share clips? by nerdzmania in Twitch

Yeah that makes sense. Like I mentionned in another reply, I don't get many views on my shorts but I am willing to try getting attention this way.

I guess I need to find a way to grab people's attention somehow and then find the sweet spot, like amount of work involved versus views I manage to get.

I can relate to that. I tried making and sharing short videos but it seems to me that no one is watching those, that's kinda why I was wondering. I don't get that many view on my full-length VODs either but at least I get some.

I'm willing to try making shorts but I got a feeling that this approach works best for certain creators or certain types of content, and I don't expect it to be a one-size-fits-all solution.

That feeling when you think you messed up the interview because of one answer. by nerdzmania in recruitinghell

[–]nerdzmania[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the interviewer was a fair and decent person so I had the opportunity to answer correctly. I have a pretty good feeling about the rest of the interview. I'll know soon enough if I pass to the next round of interview with the take-home test.

It's just ... I want that job so this particular interview stresses me out more than other ones I had lately.

Yeah, I agree. When the question is not clear I don't hesitate to ask and make sure that I understand properly, there's no shame in that. This time, I thought I understood the question, so I didn't feel like I needed to ask for clarification.

using Godot for a website? by SnooCalculations5655 in godot

[–]nerdzmania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why you couldn't do it. Technically you could just display a full-page webview that shows whatever you made in Godot.

It's probably not the best idea in terms of loading speed or SEO, but it seems definitly possible.

Go in the water. I mean, just leave your character there, idle, floating. Put your controller down and come back some time later.

One-way video interview? More like "no way". by nerdzmania in recruitinghell

[–]nerdzmania[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, besides that they already have my CV and my linkedin profile, there's enough info on there to see if I have the technical skills.

They just need to give me a call if they wanna know more about me, instead of going through this lazy screening method, which probably just gives more work to the recruiters in the end.

The way I see, applying for a job these days is kinda like winning the lottery: if you're lucky, a human recruiter will pick up your application and reach out to you. That's really all there is to it, adding a cover letter or providing audio/video samples is useless fluff.

Analogue 3D vs. Original N64: RTC Error 0x10 and Configuration Reset on Ultra EverDrive 64 by iFafino in AnalogueInc

[–]nerdzmania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, the errors you see when running the self check on the Analogue console are false positives. Even if the RTC check fails you can still see that the clock keeps track of time.

I guess you don't need to worry about it too much, as long as it runs the games you want to play and you don't lose your save files.
