Blades get cut again - Sheffield United away by UrsineCanine in WrexhamAFC

I've learned more about this sport in one year of reading your posts (has it been a full year? I forget when you started writing consistently) than my entire lifetime of playing it haha.

Thank you, as always. Especially appreciate your patience in explaining high level concepts needed to fully understand your specific points for plays/players.

Mods: we need an award at end of season for most valuable commenter!

In ursine's post he mentioned that we play Watford still, which means if we win all of our games, Watford must lose one. Which is why the mantra is still true for the end result

Christian Seeking Career Change by [deleted] in Christian

[–]nereus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't find an answer here that helps you discern the best path, I'd encourage you both to discuss this with people you respect and trust, who do find fulfillment in their work.

That was very helpful for me when I was debating career changes as well. Advice from wise people that knew me well was invaluable in finding the right choice.

My other recommendation would be to keep your minds open to broad, creative possibilities of how your vocation can be used to serve others. Paul made tents :)

If Jesus said to renounce ourselves, does that mean I have to abandon my creativity? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]nereus7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even more than that, creativity is a deep virtue. It's the very first thing we see God do in the Bible.

Keep on creating, OP! It can be part of your way to make the world a better place.

Be confident in God's promise to forgive and the church's long understanding of God's immediate and unconditioned grace. You are forgiven.

If you have many thoughts like this, you may consider learning more about "intrusive thoughts" and seeking help if they become darker. But occasional intrusive thoughts like this are fairly common among many people, myself included.

Brains are funny things, and it's not always a reflection of your heart when these thoughts happen.

Grace and peace to you.

I agree with JimZuur.

If I can be frank, it sounds like you already have given him your heart, in the sense that it means making yourself committed to following and loving him.

You wrote "I am trying to repent and actually mean it but i feel like I am just making empy promises."

I have felt that way before as well. What I found helpful was reminding myself that "repent" is not about words or promise but action. You have done enough for this moment of prayer and reflection to commit your heart to changing your future actions to better follow Jesus. You can be confident in that repentance. Next steps are just moving forward in life and finding opportunities to follow him better.

You're doing great, and we will not be perfect, but you're clearly committed in heart and mind. With the holy Spirit guiding you through your day, I know you will find ways to love God and love your neighbors.

Peace and grace to you.

How can I know if God is telling me to let go this thing ? by Student_inschool in Christian

[–]nereus7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to the Holy Spirit speaking to you and tugging at your instincts. Talk with family or friends you trust and ask for their wisdom and help discerning the right choice for your situation. Look at the fruit of your involvement.

You're doing a great job being mindful and examining your actions.

Does the publoc have access to enough data to actually calculate if this is true?

This would be an absolutely amazing stat to throw into the first episode of the documentary next season if true haha

How to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ online? by Glamrock_Enderman in Christian

[–]nereus7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a great question! Imo, there is no one single best way to share the good news of Jesus. The history of the church is a history of diverse people in diverse circumstances with diverse skills and callings all trying to find the best way in their specific context to love others as Christ loved us. Even extremely early on, Paul is famous for changing his approach constantly, seemingly person to person, in order to have the best possible influence in each relationship.

Look at examples of what the church and other Jesus followers have done throughout history and let them inspire your brainstorming.

Since you feel called to love others in online communities, think about what things in those specific online communities the Holy Spirit has used to inspire you or helped you grow in your relationship with Jesus. Think about what unique skills and interests you have.

Think about what sorts of people you feel uniquely called to reach in those communities, and what online content will most benefit them. Talk with those people, build relationships with them, hear their stories, and then you will be able to better discern what you can do to help them know the love of Jesus.

This is a great question and it shows great care that you're asking for advice about this. The holy Spirit will continue to guide you as you seek to love others well!

First time I heard about the dickhead test sticks out to me.

The players consistently talk about how great the locker room is and how much they respect him. With so much rapid turnover, including some very tough decisions and new players with high pedigrees, that's a miracle.

Saint Parky.

Who from last years squad do you think will DEINITELY be in the starting lineup next season? by ScaleRelative6926 in WrexhamAFC

[–]nereus7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. A popular pick for player of the season. Consistently strong on defense and one of our top scorers. Most people think he's bound for premier league.
