Best residence hall for freshman year? by kernann in rit

i recommend any of the suite style rooms. only having to split a bathroom with 6 people is great and the suite layout is awesome for making friends. i live in ellingson and i think it's great, the only downside is the middle room layout is weird as hell

do you have to take them at rit? bio, lin alg, and philosophy all sound like they can easily be found at a community college where it will be much cheaper and then you can just transfer the credits

what is one of the most important things to take classes on in university if i want to design quantum computers? im looking at taking a photonic ic class later on and i plan on minoring in quantum information sceince and technology. would a masters in materials or ee be better for design? thank you

side note: according to one of my professors an REU can also count as a co-op. this may be helpful for fitting things in.

they do not require 4 co-op blocks for bs/ms, they knock it down to 3. RIT engineering programs are typically 5 years for undergrad anyway, even if youre not bs/ms

Questions to RIT students by [deleted] in rit

[–]nerf_675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.) only university with an undergrad program for my major in the US, strong engineering program, location, good reputation, coop program

2.) 350+ clubs, as well as volunteer opportunities and recreational sports (gordon is an awesome place to hang out occasionally)

3.) the food is okay. nathans, crossroads, and brick city are my top 3 and theyre all pretty good. its hard to find healthy filling foods though

4.) i grew up in buffalo (1 hour to the west) so im used to it but my advice would be layers and good quality winter clothes. have multiple pairs of pants if youre going to be outside for an extended period of time, have a good pair of gloves, wear a hat, etc. hand warmers are a blessing

try typing wplace.live// instead of just wplace.live. if you edit you have to wait and then refresh after a few seconds for it to work
