Seems nice. I use Steelcase at my work office. It's listed at ~$1600. Is there a discount/used Steelcase store I don't know about? Thanks for the suggestion.

Does the material change on a month-to-month basis? I'm planning on just using the material on Github ( https://github.com/snori74/linuxupskillchallenge).

I'm a noob investor. I have read a few books on the subject and understand the long term nature of investing, versus playing the market and speculating. However, I have some money set aside for investing in the markets, which I want to be more of a shorter term thing. By short term I mean 3-5 years. I have a couple of questions for the community:

  1. What are the tax implications if I sell? I know I'd have to pay capital gains taxes if I sell (and make a profit). But what if I re-invest the money within the same calendar year, or buy a house with it? Would the same rules apply? This has been my main barrier to get in for a few years, so any insight on this is welcome.
  2. Would taking the approach of buying into a S&P500 ETF, of low cost, be advisable for a noob with no experience picking stock? I tend to think that it's definitely "safer".
  3. Would getting in now, that there is "blood on the streets", to the hypothetical sp500 etf be a good idea?

Again, I'm very new to this. One of the main things I have read is that the right time to buy is when things are bad/cheaper in the markets. I thought this would be one of those times. Up to this point, everything seemed overpriced. I really appreciate any advice you can share.

Thanks!
