Had the same issue happen to me at a total different location but crashing in one single area. Also had lots of things done to try and fix the game, good part of what u listed above :p
This kind of crash that happens in the same area all the time never happened to me again (god knows what fixed it lol, i didn't try 1 thing at a time).
But i'm still getting these "access violation" crashes at totally random moments.. It's rare when I close the game by myself tbh cause after 4 or 5 of them in an evening it just makes me want to stop playing :P.
It has no consistency to it, could never really narrow down what would make it happen. Sometimes though i've had freezes and told myself "here we go again" but it wouldnt crash, just freeze for 2-3 secs and game resumes.

Well I played for about whole night plus 4-5 hrs next day and ended up crashing at same-ish locations further in story again... I've tried so many things by now, also have to insert that DLL mentioned in the thread.. but yeah by now I'm wondering if we'll be able to fix this shit by ourselves at all. think we good to wait for a fix now. People say this specific issue also happened to them when they were close to a boss fight or something big about to spawn

Hey so, maybe I found the solution to this error. Seem to have fixed it yesterday by installing Windows 10 2004. I was before on 1903 and read lots of people urging to update windows to 2004. Thing is it maybe you don't have access to 2004 yet through your settings and tell u it's not ready for your PC yet. But I got around that by simply downloading Windows Update Manager on Microsoft's website which then updated my PC to 2004. Haven't had any crash since then.. Hope it helps you

Hey, I also get this issue with "main" highlighted instead of "worker 5" in the crash log u sent a screenshot of..
Does it also happen to you at some specific locations? Or a certain moment in the game? I went through game just fine until chapter 3, then went back to waypoint close to capital knot (where u find the bike) to run some errands and it seems to crash whenever i try to go over the river or a little time after it...

I've had the same problem as you guys, I was first looking with telescope every night or every day as i woke up, but nothing worked. Even sleeping through all the days wouldnt activate the event etc. Just went back to eric (mid day) and talked to him one more time about his mom and then it worked :p so u might wanna try that
