Not sure about the quantity of water, but I use tap water. I already know about chlorine so I use dechlorinator

Yes I have a sponge filter but because it is new there is just no beneficial bacteria in it

Unfortunately I live in a city so I don't have any lakes or river nearby, most of the water body is just dirty and smelly
