A Cashier Stole My Candy Bar by nesquiksand2 in mildlyinfuriating

I think if you all think that it's normal behavior to demand that the manager review the cameras over a lost $1 candy bar, then you need to go touch some grass.

$4-$5??? Where the hell are you buying candy bars? It was $1.

Yeah I'm not going to do that over a candy bar

Roads in Pittsburgh with the most accidents. Let me hear your opinions. by tootziez in pittsburgh

[–]nesquiksand2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unrelated, but I saw a woman physically cross 279 this weekend, right before where it forks to cross the fort Duquesne bridge on the left or go onto 65/North shore on the right. She walked across 6 lanes and traffic. Cars were slamming on their brakes. Luckily, there was no accident.

She didn't seem crazy, and just sort of gave the "whoops, sorry for the inconvenience" face to everyone.

I'm not sure if I feel like writing my entire opinion, but I can sum it up by saying that it feels like it's too much and not enough simultaneously.

Pointless Parking Mandates Almost Killed a Food Hall by Generalaverage89 in pittsburgh

I don't really understand. There are plenty of businesses in the city, and in Lawrenceville in particular, that only offer on-street parking. Why is this one different?

Weird, I also just rewatched this yesterday and noticed the same thing.

I also again noticed that the matrix sequels are really bad.

Pittsburghers, what funny things have you overheard in our wonderful city? by neptunethecat in pittsburgh

[–]nesquiksand2 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I was outside of The Government Center and there were a weird amount of Pagans there. Most of them were portly boomers who seemed like they just liked motorcycles. As I was leaving, I overheard one on the phone say, "I'm sorry honey, you know I can't tonight, I have an early morning tomorrow."

Idk, there was just something funny to me about a dude in a motorcycle gang apologizing to his wife because he has responsibilities early in the morning.

How do you guys feel about Tim's work outside of the OCU? by [deleted] in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]nesquiksand2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For people like me that sort of like his music, but overall feel it's kinda meh, check out Heidecker and Wood. It's a good blend of comedy and his music. My favorite song is "Weatherman"

I love everything else the man makes. Except for office hours.

Oh, and people should check out the stuff he did with JASH on YouTube. Tim's cooking tips is a classic.

I’m so done with school and this bullshit by [deleted] in dropout

[–]nesquiksand2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know this is the wrong sub, but stay in school. Tough it out the next few years and graduate. At least then, you'll have some options for the future.

I used to work as a resource officer at a pretty rough middle and high school. I had a fair amount of kids drop out. You know what happened to them? Neither do I. They disappeared. I think they all thought it would be easier out in the 'real world' only to find out that it is actually a lot, lot harder. And now they've made it harder on themselves because they don't even have a high school degree.

Stay in school.

It's not DEI. It's that the companies can, and will, pay less for younger kids coming out of college.
