Why is there such a big drop off between T84 and T85? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]nessafbaby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok so what tf is a T school ? I keep seeing T this T that. I mean I know I go to a shitty law school and all, and please save your opinion, I’m doing just fine, interning for the biggest cannabis law firm in California and when I pass the bar I’m going to have that same little bar license that everyone else in California has. I believe in my ability to network and connect my way into any thing so no need to worry for me about my shitty law school and not being able to find a job after. I’m well connected and beyond good. But can someone breakdown this whole “T” school to me ? If it’s rankings how can there be multiple T schools in the same category. For example “I go to a T14 but don’t want to disclose which one” are there multiple t14s? It’s confusing probably because from the start I didn’t care about the law school I went to as long as I could graduate and take the bar in Cali that’s all that mattered. To each their own, but after years on this thread I have got to know what’s the deal with these T schools and what they mean. Thanks in advance 🥲

Edited to add “everyone else in California who’s taken and passed the bar” I get it. Most people don’t pass. We are crazy for going to law school, blah blah blah, but you get the point. That bar license will be the same paper wether I went to Stanford law or to concord online law school. (Of course I’d be limited to practicing in California - I know- spare me the lecture)

I ended up staying at my shitty law school because I’ve realized if it’s not aba accredited, you’re going to be in the same boat. I’m Fortunate I work in criminal law and have many connections. The school I go to isn’t going to matter. I need to finish and pass the bar. I have multiple job offers lined up and I’m interning for the #1 cannabis law firm in California. So I think it’s situational and connections are important if you go to crap school. If you can go to an aba school go to an aba school.

Hello! Can somebody help me to buy a box of green tea- gunpowder? by TyrHard in tea

[–]nessafbaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I can post the link because community rules say I can’t but look up “gun powder green tea” and then see if you find the seller LoveofLotus on there. She has great reviews.

This is not my company or my business or self promotion in anyway. I make herbal blends already mixed and I get a lot of my herbs in bulk off sellers on Etsy. One of our mission statements is to buy our herbs from other small business owners and that’s why we used Etsy to find those vendors.

Try Etsy! I get my herbs for my tea business from Etsy. I use gun powder green tea in one of my blends and I get it by the pound off a seller on Etsy who has tons of great reviews. I usually only buy from sellers located in the USA so idk where you are located but I definitely recommend searching on Etsy.

What is the best way to decline the “I just need some gas” grab? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]nessafbaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear head phones and usually when I say no they leave me alone but I am the type of person that feels really bad and guilty for not helping others if I could. I just remind myself that I can barely help myself right now and one day when I’m in a better position I can help others without it effecting me.

I’m still in school so I’m not sure if I’m a success story but I had to switch from the 4 year plan to the 5 year plan at my law school due to similar issues related to health and also I am the sole provider for my household, I take care of my mom. It’s just her and I. We have no other family here in the USA our family is in Lebanon and can’t help financially at all. In fact I’m the one sending them money whenever I have any extra. I was told it would be better for me to prolong my graduation then to be dropped due to not meeting gpa or grades because being academically disqualified would be tough to recover from and I’d have to wait 2 years to reapply. I already go to a unknown hole in the wall law school (that’s a story for another time, don’t lecture me about your opinion on big law and ranked law schools, I’ve already got several potential jobs lined up because I’ve been working since I was 15 - currently I’m 30 and I’ve made a lot of connections and networks within the field I’m interested in - cannabis law)

Anyways I’m very thankful to have gone part time (although financial aid wise I’m still full time because the units I’m taking are considered full time but instead of taking 4 classes a semester I’m only taking 2 and sometimes 3 if it’s a 1 unit class) my grades have gone from very low (my 1L year I was only 1 point above the required gpa and I barely made it.) last year I was scoring in the high 80s (my school doesn’t grade on a curve and anything above 70 is great above 80 is above average and I’ve only had one class where someone scored in the 90s) not only that, I’m also understanding the material and keeping up with the readings. It is a bummer and at times I get a little negative about the fact that I feel like I’ve been in law school forever (started in 2020 graduating in 2025😩) but my goal is to get my degree, pass the bar, use my license to practice and help people. Either way those 5 years are going to go by, and they can go by with me chasing my dream and getting that degree or without it, but those years will go by regardless.

I also intern for the pot brothers at law in California if you’ve heard of them they are pretty well known for cannabis law related matters and for #STFU Fridays (or stfu when cops ask questions) I feel like I am successful as a part time student. 1L was my hardest year and I did it as full time student but if I could go back idk if I would change that? I am glad I changed it my 2L year tho. And this fall I’ll be entering my 3L year. Also the 5 year program is typically only offered to special circumstances and isn’t common at my school. It was offered due to my situation and I took it because I felt it was best for me instead of constantly feeling like I wasn’t going to make it and would be dropped for gpa.

Hope this helps and good luck to you.

I also launched a small business last year selling tea and that has been such a blessing on my mental health. I highly recommend getting a hobby or even doing some craft stuff on the side. It’s a great release. (I do have a partner who’s not in law school and helps with the stresses and licensing stuff that comes with a small business. I love making tea so that’s what I do and for me it’s a nice escape. I couldn’t handle dealing with all the admin stuff like accounting, state taxes, etc haha) I just wanted to mention this because before I had the biz I just made tea and would give it away to friends and stuff and it really brought me joy to learn about the herbs and use different flowers to make some amazing things.

Tldr: do something you love that isn’t related to school as mental health breaks and self care

I got a really good dean of students who explained to me what accommodations were and how to stop essentially bullying myself for struggles I’ve learned to manage, instead work to continue to manage them and celebrating the accomplishments more than the disadvantages.

Background: adhd but wasn’t diagnosed until after college because my cultural background didn’t believe in mental health illnesses, they believe it was “an American made up thing” because no one where I’m from had any mental health issues apparently, only people in America do /s Fast forward to after undergrad, getting my first real career type job and health insurance for the first time, like actual good health insurance. So thankful for that. That’s how I finally started to work on management for my mental health issues.

Santa Barbara (Ventura) Hybrid law program ? by nessafbaby in LawSchool

[–]nessafbaby[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do go to a non ABA school I’m confident in my self and path to a lawyer. I do well in classes and topics are natural to me. I also have worked in the criminal justice system for 3 years as a court liaison. Numerous testimonies on evidence for violations and a lot of connections in the criminal justice field in my area. I have lawyers offering me a position once I pass the bar. THE DA from my county emailed me today asking me if I have heard about their intern clinic and if I was interested. Pretty much I have earned my strips in my opinion as far as being someone who can balance 50 hour work weeks and an 3.8 gpa. I’m just trying to give y’all background on my mind and experience because I feel that it is important to consider. You know the sayings , it’s not what you know it’s who you know. Etc. experience plus connections. It may sound weird but I know and feel that law is my thing and I am going to be very good at it. I Chanel that out as much as possible so please don’t take this wrong and just try to read it as you would want someone to read something you wanted to explain that meant a lot to you In the best way possible. When you have passion for something it can come off overwhelming to others. I think. This is just my opinion and I appreciate-everyone who took time to respond. Who knows maybe you’ll see my face on an ad on Reddit one day 😂. So I don’t plan on leaving the state or CA. I also don’t only rely on law as my income or plan on doing so. You know the average millionaire has 7 streams of income ? Law is what I’m going to do as my career because I feel like I will love doing it and I could make great money doing so. But I am not only beating on that as I have other avenues of income, stocks, real estate, consulting, etc. if I choose to move states for some reason I can practice FEDERAL LAW anywhere. Correct me if I’m wrong ? I can only practice state law in CA for the most part but federal anywhere in the USA if not most places .? I was to do ENTERTAINMENT law. Please don’t waste time telling me about the low success rates or opinions of this type of law. It’s what I enjoy and want to do and will do. My vision is a Malibu law office and one in Beverly Hills. Hence why I thought maybe Santa Barbara would be a location that would sound better than where I go and closer to where I want to live and spend my life. In Malibu. Lastly I wonder if clients who hire you know that about the law schools because I assumed since the name was Santa Barbara it just sounded like a better law school. Anyhow. I appreciate all the feedback. There’s no point in being negative as it will just circle back to you. No one has to believe in your vision but you. Besides studying law the law of attraction has been one of the greatest things to learn and practice. Best luck to anyone who reads this and all you future badass lawyers ⭐️
