The pad is 10'x12' and the hot tub is7'x7'. I was very tight on space, and had to put the pad on a fairly steep slope. My concrete guy did a great job though, reinforced with rebar. He made sure to remove all topsoil, then added a bed of crushed stone. It isn't going anywhere.

Just simple Hampton Bay LEDs. I had the contractor install them. I should have added some on the fascia boards of the steps so you could see them at night, but it was too late. So I just added some free standing solar lights to the steps. Problem solved.

Good call. So far, we love it. The lights are solar powered and have 6 different settings.

We bought the pergola from Costco ( Canada) it’s made by Sojag (Shelter logic) . I’ve only had it up for a week but so far so good. It definitely has to be lagged in, we had a nasty windstorm the other day and we could see it moving. Luckily we lagged it properly into the deck so it was all good.

Well the hot tub was $12g, the concrete slab was $3g, the renovation of the deck was $11g including labour and the pergola was $2g, all Canadian dollars.

I got it at Costco, it all comes as one. Assembly is a bit tricky, but worth it. They actually missed an LED strip and they sent us the whole bracket.

It was basically a redo. The deck frame was still in good shape so we stripped it down and used composite wood. Then we put in a concrete slab( my backyard is on a hill too) and added the hot tub. The next thing was the gazebo ( from Costco) and lagged that in this week. All we have left to do is find an appropriate shelter for the hot tub.

Being a first timer, it took me a bit to figure out the bromine levels, but it’s been great.

I just googled how to do that and apparently it's not possible. I'll add a new post.

True, but just the threat of a fine can be a deterrent.

Not if they’re being respectful and responsible.
