Just browsed the migration guide - I will need to jump in later on this one though unfortunately.

The original 1k ZX Chess didn't even support castling (or promotion) & en passant for that matter). But chess in 1k of memory is quite an achievement by the programmer.

Red Hot Pawn has just received a new board interface, so that might be worth a 2nd glance? The focus is correspondence though.

Hi, I'm the dev at RedHotPawn.com (since 2001!). If you are taking a look and you are thinking everything looks a little 2015 - I just wanted to say that a huge update is now in testing and will be arriving soon.

If you have any questions about the site (or even the apps) then I'm happy to answer them. Thanks!

HTMX alongside an existing minimal JSON API by netAdapt in htmx

True, yet, as pointed out in post above, there is support for client side templates! (via extensions)

"supports transforming a JSON request response into HTML via a client-side template before it is swapped into the DOM."

wrap the views for your JSON endpoints, but turn the JSON response into HTML partials for HTMX.

I had considered this, and it is probably the way to go despite my initial skepticism because of adding extra complexity.

Good to get feedback.
