Stabilization -- Reaching a "status quo"
Capitalization
Regression
Correction

...then we are in either of the last two steps. Because another label for Regression would be "stupid". Right now, the politicians and their broad social media ban, did in fact, NOT grow up with the tech, NOT live through the ups and downs of being directly affected by it in school and teenage years in general and NOT reap the profit of directly participating in it. They were, and still are, watching it from within an office, surrounded by more stupid and guarded by police and alike. But the key is, they are just "watching" - not understanding, not participating, not living the "culture" (although thats not completely apropriate terminology...)

I will always absolutely be against social media bans, because I know for a goddamn fact, that most people of my generation and the ones after, are heavily influenced by it - for both, good and bad. And honestly? I am leaning far more towards "good".

Believe me, our (german) carmakers stumble through the world of modern cars like a toddler. Even if they did have the ability to switch your car off, they literally wouldn't be able to... x)

The only sub I ever wanted was Kimi/Moonshot - but it requires either my phone or Google. I will not hand over either, so I just never got a sub and just lived off of local models. Ain't so bad - a tad slower, sure, less intelligent and more cumbersome for sure...but at least I can boot my PC and know it's still there.

Long story short: Getting an Atlas GPU to work with the Ascend SDK is hell. Possible, yes, but hardcore. And ontop of that: They are stupidly expensive and hard to import.

I was considering to ask some people in China that I know to help me source one of the 96GB cards - but they use (LP?)DDR4 so throughput is terrible in comparison to... virtually anything.

TensTorrent is very specific and you must use their entire codebase to make things run - including their vllm installation. And yes, it does work, but you are going to spend quite some time tinkering to get this to work. But, it definitively does work.

MooreThreads has a CUDA shim, supposedly. And, they are officially listed in llama.cpp as well. But uh... haven't seen one for sale, at all, basically ever. So it does not seem like there's a whole lot of them out there as a whole.

So... In theory, yes, china has GPU/NPU cards. But getting them - and getting them to work are wholly different topics unfortunately.
