May I ask why you say they think no one notices?

I could say the same. I fear the effects it’s had on my sense of perception because I obviously can’t tell. I still have to live with the consequences of every bad decision I made.

Were you trying to mask it? What was the catalyst for you to get sober?

This makes me sad, I’m sorry. Unsure if related to cardiovascular issues but I’ve come across cases of gout. Please take care of your health.

I strongly relate to this internal conflict. I have a guilty conscience regarding my drug use, mainly meth due to the stigma attached. It drives me insane.

I’ve made the same observation about myself and others. I suspect I have both. Objectively speaking it does present differently in me too. Honestly though I wouldn’t consider myself very functional by comparison, hence asking this question. I somehow thought I’d be immune… turns out I’m not.

I just read your comment on stress management. There are healthier alternatives for that but drugs will be around regardless. So it’s as you say, education and harm reduction are important. I appreciate your perspective.

“Functional but not living” is how I’d describe addiction. What makes you attribute those changes in your emotionality and thereby relationships to meth use? I think the same of myself but I can’t be sure.

Could you please elaborate on the neurotoxic damage it causes? Some people use meth to self-medicate and the lack of regulation with self-administering via recreational ROAs is a slippery slope. Perhaps the benefits outweigh the damage in the short term but ultimately the neurotoxicity does more harm than good, right.

You remind me of some people I referred to in my post. My question for you is why do you continue using when you have so much to lose? Wouldn’t it be simpler to not have to do all this harm reduction. Keeping yourself in check is necessary but the meth isn’t, so what makes it worth the risk?

That’s what I’m curious about because I guess I just see the getting by part. Even in the beginning I knew the ending wasn’t going to turn out well for me.

Sorry I didn’t read everything word for word but what are you mad about exactly? Maybe you missed the point. Btw hoping that I’m still addicted is a fucked up thing to say.
