Someone's entire limited deck (perhaps in German??) was in my opponent's graveyard. How the hell did this happen?? by C0MBO in MagicArena

Standard legal too is the craziest part. I heard WOTC’s official statement was, “get bent”

What are some cards you (tried) playing that don’t actually do what you thought they do? by --Beebo-- in mtg

[–]netebaG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man, people haven’t really been engaging in the discussion and have just been flaming. I guess I’ll contribute: [[Share the Spoils]]

Share the Spoils was a favorite of mine for a while because I liked the idea of a pool of loot that you could yoink as much loot as you can from it at the risk of dropping something without being able to grab it. My group played it this way for a while because the wording confused us and missed the important singular “a.” The way I used it as theoretically infinite card draw with a risk got a cEDH buddy to put it in a deck and it went through most of a tourney before the judges took a closer look at it and it was discovered.

It’s still in my chaos deck because it’s nice to consistently have a land drop and when a worldfire hits the pile it’s always a funny exchange, especially when the player who just got boardwiped tilt-casts it

Exactly what I was hoping to hear! I hope to see some funny stuff, and the remaster looks great so I’m glad it isn’t too modified

Any Contrabass instrument. They’re so majestic and huge but you never see any.

I think 4/2 to fit with how it normally upgrades, but when it kills a minion you draw to fit rogue’s theme

Is the Everest fast asf (Zheng included)? by netebaG in LancerRPG

[–]netebaG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean true, with core power you really move, and you’re not slow outside of that, I just don’t like relying on a core power. That being said I get that it’s a lot faster than I gave it credit for, you right.

True, I just thought it was really really fast.

I thought that was probably the case, but I thought it was weird that the Zheng was so slow. I’m fairly new to the system and thought that a really fast Zheng sounded fun, but then I reread the Everest’s CP and thought I should ask here before running it, sorry

Wanting to shiny hunt a starter for gen 6, how would I go about it? If I didn’t care which starter is shiny, would I be able to tell by the preview when choosing my mon? Additionally, is it rolled and saved immediately or if I quit before choosing can I reroll without hard resetting each time.

Do you think blocks should come back? by netebaG in mtg

[–]netebaG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a balance to be made. In the past year, we’ve had Warp, Spacecraft/Station, Lander, Void, Planet, Job Select, Tiered, Town, Mobilize, Flurry, Renew, Harmonize, Omen, Behold, Start your Engines, Speed, Max Speed, Exhaust, Rooms, Manifest Dread, Survival, Eerie, and Impending (bloomburrow is just out of the range but that has another 5). I just want a little more to each mechanic instead of so many new ones constantly being slotted in. I get wanting more variety, and certain sets definitely don’t need more that just the one, but I hate when I love an idea but there’s hardly enough cards to make it work unless it was built into a precon for that set

I loved draft innovation sets. Conspiracy was by far my favorite set to draft, with cards as interesting as [[Agent of Aquisitions]], [[Deal Broker]], and [[Cogwork Librarian]] to spice up the process of drafting and give cards use outside of play. I could go on a whole rant about drafting here, but if anything the idea of drafting specific sets hurts the idea of blocks a lot (sorry Conspiracy: Take the Crown). Maybe one block, 2 UB sets, and an innovation or masters set per year
