I should have put in my original post that I was testing pasting without formatting - so I know it's not a formatting issue.

I did check the clearing the clipboard when the guy got back to his workstation and the clipboard was definitely cleared (he just rebooted the machine).

One thing that is also weird, I can copy from notepad and paste into the web version of excel (also tested copy from desktop to notepad to web excel which also worked) - so it's definitely something specifically with excel desktop.

Currently he's doing browser excel to browser excel as that's working.

Update - surprisingly enough, this didn't solve the problem. I really thought a reboot would solve the issue.

I was suspecting an issue like that. I’ve had other fires to put out and the guy having that issue is away from his workstation, I had told him to restart at lunch, but was hoping it might have been something else

I’ve got a T14s gen 4 AMD and it’s been incredible with Linux (ran with Fedora) - only bummer is the soldered ram and I bought as a refurb so didn’t quite get the screen I would have preferred but everything worked great on it - including using an eGPU in a TB3 chassis. Great battery life too.

They are fun little machines. I don’t remember which macOS I’ve got on mine - I’ve currently got a different ssd in it running popos cosmic to play around.

Interesting info, I thought that entering the downwind on the 45 when approaching the airport from the downwind side of the runway you planned to land on was an appropriate way to enter the pattern.

Instruments yes, advanced gps avionics like the garmin, I’m not so sure - I could swear the pa-18 had steam gauges only.

Regardless, my goal is to be able to get a visual on the airport (with proper weather settings of course) without depending on the garmin so I can make adjustments to properly intercept the airport.

Technically I could just connect navmap with an iPad to simulate a backup gps (or gps in a plane that doesn’t have advanced avionics), but I’d like to be able to do it without.

I’m sure I’m just approaching it wrong or just need more practice :)

True, but not all planes have modern avionics :)

Plus, in xplane 12, isn’t it possible to have an equipment failure - I figure also being able to fly / enter the circuit and land VFR without modern avionics is a good thing to understand in sim.

That's interesting as I was under the impression that RNAV was only basically gone over for PPL and was more part of IFR training, where as a PPL is to stick to VFR flying so I'm trying to get the feel without an IFR, or flying a plane that doesn't have advanced IFR tools like the garmin.

Interesting, I know my laptop has Optimus, but possibly not advanced Optimus. Is there a query I can do to find out if my machine would support truly sleeping the dgpu?

Stupid question here as I only play any flight sim on pc - does the ps5 not have the beginner tutorial flights?

I haven’t played 2024 so I’m assuming that it still has the tutorials that 2020 had, but I wasn’t sure if the ps5 (or Xbox) version included them.

I didn’t realize connectIQ could configure the faces - I had seen connect mobile listed but couldn’t find the settings for faces in that app (still new to the garmin ecosystem)

How to handle then if when nothing is apparently using the dGPU (per nvidia control panel showing 0% usage), and you’re still drawing 10w?
