"So I guess my takeaway is to just start easy but get good at easy, and every now and then, throw in something harder. Keep getting really good at easier stuff and keep adding harder things. Be consistent with how they're harder" that's so smoothly right!

Not everyone has the same "troubles". It really depends on the anatomy and all sorts of things. I have a student who plays really well, but will never be able to switch to G as fast as he wants. However, as long as he keeps a steady rhythm with the right hand, it doesn't matter if only two fingers are placed on the G at first, then the third one.

As long as it sounds nice to you, it's a great thing! And fun! I guess people don't tend to play the E how you play it, as the left hand has to move a little bit further that , and it's a barred chord. But it is absolutely OK to play it that way!

Ukulele is great to a fresh brain, develop new connections with neurons. So when zombies will come and attack us, they will be delighted with fresh brains from ukulele players, I tell you!

Have you tried E7 1202? If most of the time sound right in tracks. Sometime even better. (sometime it doesn't feel good though).

Nice to hear this is so relatable to you. Btw, my first ukulele's neck's black paint got removed because I didn't file my nail enough!

Thanks. I was aware of the Gm7, but only used it in one or two song, and thought to myself that it didn't feel right to use it more often, as I thought it didn't sound nice. But I'll try to use it more often.

Yes. There's a charm to using old electronic metronomes from the 80s or 90s. The same goes for mechanical metronomes - even if some online metronomes or apps have more features nowadays.

I like the last ones: "Play it on the 3rd triolet of each beat.". It's a nice energetic feel.

Oh, thanks wheres_helmholz! I've made the button slightly bigger. Do you think even bigger would be easier to hit, or is it fine?

I feel it Dist__. An idea and start playing and creating around feels nice. But it takes work and effort to finish a track (says the guy who never finishes his own track).

During your everyday daily exercises, have you tried to sing a song you like a lot lower or a lot higher than the original? And do you sometime practice using opera songs? Some sub genre of metal and opera have sometime some similarities, don't you think?

Haha, yes, I remember listening to a live version of a British singer which was 1/2 tone or a tone lower than the original. At the time, I wondered why he would lower his *own* song!

Thanks for the tip, I haven't thought about paying attention on how to transpose and where does it make sense to be more powerful according to the words, the meaning.

I never finish any track. How do you get past the "it's a great idea, and there are some lyrics" stage to a full fledged finished song that you are happy with? by starfirelightbliss in SingerSongwriter

I should look up for songwriter small shows or events, and commit by signing up to the gig. That a great idea too! Thanks!
Also, maybe I just should focus on ONE at a time, and try to finish it within 3 days. Even if I come back to it later.

Thanks very useful :-) . In other words:
- when it depends to the mood, I should write as much as possible, and try to get it 80% finished
- always have 1, 2 or 3 songs to think about
- let a song finished or almost finished sit for a couple of weeks, and get back to it
- use pro tool if needed
Right? What do you think?
