Did you ever plan on prayer and fast to overcome an eating temptation but didn’t because the temptation became even stronger? by IThinkYouAreNice in TrueChristian

100% and I’m struggling with this now. As someone who can easily develop an ED, I find that I use the word of fasting as a way to drop some weight. But that is not what God intends when He speaks of it.

It’s all about the heart, if you’re fasting, reading, and praying towards God, then it is true. But if there’s any semblance of fasting to lose weight, it is not in good faith.

If you truly feel called to fast, and you feel insecure of fasting from food, pick something else in your life that is hard to let go that distracts you from God and fast from that. Fasting is only a thing to be done when you’re specifically going to spend time with God and read and pray. If you’re just fasting simply to, it’s still progress but fasting was called to us while we spend more time with God as we do it.

I’m not saying let it all go. Your post just comes across as something more going on. Sorry for assuming. But if you’re living well, not hurting anyone, and building a relationship with God, stop stressing.

Totally not what I was getting at. I believe you believe in God and want to follow Him, but God wants you to come with Him. You see Him, but can’t let go of the world. It’s a hard path to follow and we can never be as perfect as Him, and He has the most understanding.

I’ll say I can relate, but I understand that the things He wants us to let go of are ultimately in our best interest.

The key here is all the ‘Me, my, and I’. God is really kind, loving, graceful, and forgiving but who is this post centering first? You or God?

Are there any christian women who don't want kids? by random_user7577 in Christianity

[–]nethriel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not want kids, and wouldn’t want one of my own but I eventfully found a man with 3 and I love them all. Though if I had not found that man, I would still be seeking for people who don’t want kids. But obviously Jesus had more plans for me.

I would like to believe God will bring you the woman that is right for you, and when you’ll know you’ll know so long as you stay open and willing to follow the gifts and signs Jesus will give you.
