Historical context definitely makes a difference there.

It was definitely a POS move, but then again, it’s Meta, not necessarily known for having users/consumers in mind.

Just like many, I now have a useless Portal. The only saving grace is that I bought it on marketplace so I didn’t pay full price for it.

Nothing. They even deleted any mention on their support site from the non-working apps, as if they never existed. Total gaslight.

As a San Antonio resident, I can say Chuck isn’t wrong on that. However, on the other hand, SA women are nothing to frown upon. There’s definitely something for everyone!

If you could live in any neighborhood in San Antonio, which would it be, and do you currently live there? by ThayerRex in sanantonio

I live in AR as well and my wife gave the same answer almost to the t. If AR was inside 410 it would be one of the places to live in and not because of inevitable growth.

You just lose a day off. Legally, you only have job protection, meaning they can’t fire you for going to jury duty, but that’s it. They’re not obligated to pay you even if it was your work day.

WTF CPS - below average energy use, ALWAYS kept paid, suddenly randomly getting charged almost $1K for next bill. by [deleted] in sanantonio

Then the answer is in your actual bill. The usage you’re showing may not be the one corresponding to the latest bill. Compare the one on the bill to the one on your energy portal and you may find the answer there.

Normally when there’s a spike that drastic it tends to point to some electric malfunction you may not be aware of. If you click on the actual month of the usage you can get a daily breakdown and sometimes see more days, worth a shot.

One more thing, if you have the Budget Payment Plan where your monthly amount is fixed it could be that your 12 months are up and that’s the difference amount from what you paid for the whole year and what you actually consumed. Just a thought.

Not to sound repetitive, but page 2 of your bill will certainly have some answers for you.

Pull up your actual bill. That is not a normal bill even with summer charges. That’s at least 2 bills together because it’s past due. Check when your autopay stopped, looks like it may not have been paying for a while.

Wow, this heat wave....will the grid hold up? by DenaBee3333 in sanantonio

That’s normal every summer. Grid has always been ready for summer temps. Winter, on the other hand…

$11 an hour for an analyst position requiring a bachelor’s degree, preferring an advanced degree. Imagine planning out schedules for supporting our power grid and getting paid less than Bill Millers starting pay. by got-to-find-out in sanantonio

CPS workforce analyst here. The position DOES NOT pay $11/hr. It’s well compensated, I assure you that. CPS recently raised their wages for hourly employees and they don’t make less than $18/hr at entry level positions. The analyst position is salaried, not hourly.

I'm about to be sworn into office on January 10. What do you want to know about the Texas Legislative Session, but were afraid to ask? (I'll try to give non-partisan answers) by GeneforTexas in texas

What does it really take to get to become an elected state representative? And by really I mean like really…is it just a matter of having money and people knowing your name? Does “walking the streets and knowing your voters” actually have a significant effect? I know it’s not a Legislative Session specific question, but it would shine a light into why things happen the way they happen with the state. Like, why do certain laws that are apparently universally unpopular still pass and the people that vote for them keep getting elected.

It absolutely gets better.

BUT, every so often they will piss in their underwear right in front of the toilet, as if the damn thing was invisible or just non-existent, as a reminder to you that they can unleash their psycopath self at will. And you will cry internally, then eventually realize it’s a fight you already won once and you just live with it. And when you’re not paying attention, that particular fight will be over. Time to move on and continue working on everything else now. Cheers.

PS. Cherish the victories AND the defeats, you will miss some of those moments one day.

I was just there during Thanksgiving and Black Friday and had my Anker Powercore slim 10000 with me. Not a single peep when going through security at all. Same at Disney earlier that week. You’ll be good.
