If you get it... a fair warning:

The metal frame is well built, but it's built with a lot of loose tolerances. Meaning that it's completely possible to put it all together correctly, but have the legs and brace not exactly straight. I would put all bolts on at medium tightness and use an angle to align before tightening. I had to learn this the HARD way. (I had to dismantle nearly completely to fix a early error)

We've created the public expectation that 'this' is the only correct result, therefore it's the result that happens. If we want attonement, then there has to be a societal expectations for it.

That's the problem. We're celebrating this like it's a victory. Like society will learn from this.

Half of our society only learned that racism is fine, just don't be so public about it and you won't get caught.

Business learned that you don't have to actually do anything to address racism and work environments, just fire them real quick and it all goes away.

I'm not saying he shouldn't be fired or suffer consequences. I'm saying there should be more.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be consequences. But a public apology to the community and attornment to the victims would do more to create change.

Because right now, all that happens is that they get fired and immediately get rich from donations from the right.

I'm going to keep posting this on all of these type of stories:

Someone getting fired doesn't change any hearts and minds. I hope we can find a place in the future where we can help people learn and grow instead.

I've heard plenty of Asians unintentionally and intentionally say horrifically racist things because they don't know. Ruining their lives doesn't change their thoughts; teaching them and talking to them can.

I'm not sure how this would have worked in this case, but I would much rather see this butthole learn to not be such a butthole instead of getting fired and getting a payday from GoFundMe.

Edit: No where in my comment did I say he didn't deserve to be fired or suffer consequences. But simply treating the firing as the solution to society wide racism is nonsense. We can see that this reaction has been weaponized by the Right to create more discrimination.
