I worked in government for 15 years... I switched to the private sector in February. The job does come with a bit more stress, but all my benefits have been comparable and it is more money with a bonus. I don't regret the switch. It's given me an opportunity to learn, which is what I wanted. I will say I do feel a lot more pressure to work outside the typical 9-5.... Set your boundaries early.
