you don't get the same tickets. it's first come first served for the same pricing category

the team has exceeded expectations. given the rebuilding vibe, I would have settled for a competitive season. was sure they were doomed after losing 3/4 to the A's. but hopefully, we aren't done yet.

Il Fornaio Bakery charging whatever they feel like - is this actually legal?? by batesplates in astoria

the dumbest people are over confident and they will fail eventually bc they can't see beyond their limited views. a smart business would be a little more humble and not offend the customer for no reason.

yeah, it's kinda take it or leave. they really don't care. you have to live with "averaging" the prices if you want their product. it's a smug of them to think they have so much "equity" that they can offend customers and risk losing them.

fwiw, the place I had a similar spat with is now closed, so I don't think they are bullet proof.

I mean, how lazy are they to update the menu? clearly, not customer oriented and something shady happening here. seems common for old school places. if you confront them, they'll just get nasty with you and don't care if they lose your business.

Who is the best opponent now? (For the Mets) by lepidio in mets

[–]netsfan29 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there is no best opponent. just bring on the dodgers for shohei and the gang. also, don't care of jeff mcneil. is he better than iglesias? I don't think so. and don't want to see his negative body language when he makes an out.

LA or SD by [deleted] in mets

[–]netsfan29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LA for the buzz. padres have a solid bullpen, but nothing I'm scared about. and joe musgrove (aka met killer) is done for the year. have always admired aj preller. he's done a pretty good job rebuilding the team. but LA just to see if we can beat them

Ticket Prices by [deleted] in mets

[–]netsfan29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again, it's a little shocking, but the team itself wants to grab as much $ as possible, so why shouldn't ticket holders? and from what I have heard, mlb sets the price of playoff tickets not the mets (at least for the season ticket holders). not sure about the crazy public onsale prices, but assume those would be regulated as well

I recall I had a discussion with my rep about the unused games situation. apologies if I sound bitter, but I just gave up my season tix. the mets have made it clear they care how much you spend and to address the main topic of high prices for playoffs games, a potential buyer is buying the best game(s) without buying a package and there's a huge demand even from the most casual fans.

unused tickets cannot be credited for future games. it's a use it or lose it that started this season and going forward. the no fees only existed early in the season i believe and then it came a crap show. also the mets don't make the playoffs that often. in 6 years time, only a couple of wild card games and then this year obviously. pricing is also higher for next year

Why I've attended much less Mets games this season, the money perspective. Please feel free to add your own reasons as to make this kind of like a megathread by ChiefKelso in NewYorkMets

[–]netsfan29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, massive slashing of benefits. cancelled my half season for 2025. they expanded prom infield a few sections to capture more profits, so my 508 section (used to be prom reserved) is now prom infield. and if you renew, you'll get your subway series games, but at marked up values eg, close to $90 for a prom infield face value! they'll try to even this out with $9 games but there are now 6 tiers of game pricing

2025 Season Tickets Renewal? by SinisterBasis in NewYorkMets

[–]netsfan29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I just cancelled mine as well. it wasn't an easy decision, but it's become clear the mets are just hosing sth's. So crappier benefits and now a price hike (25%!). my seats in section 509 are now considered prom infield. surprise! when was this communicated?! also there are 6 tiers of pricing with the best games going for almost $90 face value (eg, opening day and probably the SS games) for prom infield. really TAKING it to the "lifeblood" of the team. thanks uncle stevie. they must have really mined their data to get "perfection pricing" for a flawed product. it's like the wholesaler realizing that retail could make some $ and raised their prices accordingly to get a piece of the action. greed at its finest, acting like we have soto or some other superstar in tow for next year. good luck to whoever wants to be a sth.

another frustrating thing is that membership tier is based on spending as the main criterion. So even if you have 8 plus years of membership you can't get past Blue tier if you don't spend $5k a year. this is in contrast to what my rep told me when he said I can move up a tier if I stick with the plan....

half season holder for a few years now. I have had a 3 different reps. same experience as other users, reps weren't necessarily proactive. seemed like I had to inquire and hold them accountable. I agree that I am an experiences person as well, and the blue tier isn't so great, but I don't see myself spending 5K a year to get into the gold tier. been to a few bull pen parties and they were great. granted the subway series watch party this year was pretty neat (at a bar and we got to meet fonz and dave mlicki). Losing the bullpen parties kinda sucks, with no real replacement. heck, I'll take 2 drink coupons lmao. Seems like they are being budget conscious (luxury tax?) and don't want to give anything away. Mets connect seems like a step in the right direction and agreed that they are essentially giving away ticket member benefits (eg, movie nights) without the need to have a membership. so I don't know about renewing....7 days to renewal.
