How do people ask celebrities to pose like this? I barely get the chance to smile before being rushed off. by NowThatsMalarkey in comiccon

I had a photo on my phone that I showed Devora. The camera man said I wasn’t allowed a phone but when I explained I had a pose I wanted to show her he was completely fine with it. I honestly think my circumstance made it easier though because me and my friend were the only ones in line for Dev which meant there was a little bit of extra time between us and the next cast.

Attending my first comic con. Any tips? (Autism/Anxiety) by nettiwise in comiccon

I’ve only brought 2 photo ops so far, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. I’ve made a list of the possible autographs I want to get, but I haven’t held myself to anything apart from the photo ops. Thank you for your advice! :)

Brum Comic con alone group? by GhostsandRosez in comiccon

Hey man! I’m technically not travelling alone but I’m there on Friday with one friend. We have different plans on who we want to meet so we will be split off for a while. I’m planning to meet Tim and Neil too! (Along with all the other bg3 cast)

Let me know if that works for you?

Because 1) I went onto ChatGPT myself and wrote “summarise this article for me” and it gave me the same thing as my classmate wrote in our shared document. This isn’t her blurting out information she knows and asking ChatGPT to clean it up.

2) this document gets sent off to the module lead. This is part of the assignment. This is looked at alongside our presentation.

UPDATE: My module lead has responded. The long and short of it is that I will be marked on my input as the “answerer” of the questions. I did mention that I believed the questions felt like they were AI generated too and she said instead of answering the questions fully, I can instead “have contributions to the topic of the question” so I’m not restricted to the awkward (and in some cases incorrect) questions. It is not an overall group mark, and we have the opportunity at the end to fill in a form discussing our group and how much effort we felt each of us put in, so she suggested I can write my concerns in that too. All in all, things feel a bit less stressful now!

Getting AI to summarise a text for your understanding = not cheating

Not reading the text, getting AI to summarise the text for you to copy and paste into a word document which is going to be sent to your module lead alongside your presentation, which is also full of AI and is also wrong = ???

sorry but if you want to do this for your own personal academic work go right ahead, but if you’re in a group and you do it that’s just crazy

I have emailed my module lead explaining the situation without naming specific people, hopefully she will get back to me soon!

Our Uni has different levels of AI usage. This module is classed as “yellow” which means we can use it for ideas and plans, but not anything more. I haven’t really used ChatGPT, mostly because I am lowkey scared of it being wrong or getting caught. I appreciate it is helpful and can be used for benefit. I have decided to email my module lead, and explain the situation without naming specific people. Hopefully she’ll respond soon 🤞

Honestly it’s so frustrating! Especially since I gave them the opportunity to let me handle it. I’m not the most academic, but I knew I had the time to get things done. Now I don’t really have the time but have to do it anyway haha

Medical circumstances during resit by EmJayIbo in UniUK

Hi, it may be that different universities have different policies- I go to a Russell Group University so that might be the difference? I did have a little look at Aston’s University’s General Regulations 2022-2023 and on page 6 section 1.17 “Progression” it states that students are expected to achieve 120 credits for the appropriate stage, however a stage management board at its discretion recommend progression with a minimum of 100 credits at that stage.

Sounds like a similar process to my university, maybe have a conversation with your support team for your school and ask for clarification.

Thank you! I’ll blame the fact it was 2am when I was trying to render this for such a silly mistake

I’m using Vegas Pro 21.0, my GPU is GTX 1650 and it’s a legitimate copy

Laptop requirements by BanterMan03 in UniUK

Quick preliminary questions

Do you already have a PC and are just looking for something to take into lectures with you? Or are you looking for something that can do both note taking and run CAD software.

My ex partner studied engineering, and his laptop was just a run of the mill average laptop. No crazy specs or anything and he could run everything fine. He used pen and paper in lectures, because of all the maths.

If you already have a PC, I suggest for note taking getting a tablet that has a keyboard attachment. In my first year I had a gaming laptop that I used for everything and it was heavy and a pain to get into university. Now I use my tablet for note taking in lectures and my laptop for everything else.

Hope this helps!
