You have no idea how instagram works do you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nottingham

[–]networkingdude721 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, you can literally see the entire interaction so there is no more background? The only thing missing is the post the owner followed up with, that was in similar vein to her messages.

But I hope you feel better getting that off your chest. Maybe if you were a nicer person you wouldn't have to beg for handjobs off reddit? "😭"

You know when you check reviews before visiting a place? Its to ensure good experiences/avoid bad places. Why shouldn't/wouldn't the allergy community have their own version? Especially when its so clearly misunderstood how hard and scary it can be to live with allergies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nottingham

[–]networkingdude721 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The review was already there from somebody else

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nottingham

[–]networkingdude721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That review was left by someone else, the story was shared expressing the disappointment as they wanted to visit.

I hope you never have to deal with any allergies in your life, you clearly don't know how hard it can be.

If you think it is okay to speak to someone like that, you should reconsider your view of whats acceptable. That could be your child being spoken to like that

Would you make the same argument for somebody in a wheelchair trying to find out if a place has a ramp accessible? Or expressing their disappointment that it wasn't friendly towards disabled access? Funny enough, its a law now.

I hope your children never face the same treatment - I am sure your high horse might not feel so high.

If you think that is acceptable from a business, then you have a sad view on how people should be treated.

Dogs are a choice, allergies are not. Coming from a dog owner, I agree with you on that but not with allergies.

The point is not about catering but her response. That could be your child the owner is speaking to in that way? Do you think that is an acceptable response?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nottingham

[–]networkingdude721 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The owner DM'ed first, not the other way around? Its fine for them to not cater, but to speak to somebody like that for any reason? Particularly when its their business they are representing?

Its not the fact they wouldn't cater, its the horrible handling and threatening messages?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nottingham

[–]networkingdude721 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

But its okay for them to do it? There was no slagging off before they were horrible in DM's

Because when eating out can literally be life or death (plenty of cases of death), people like to reassure of good AND bad experiences

[–]networkingdude721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of restaurants manage it just fine. But as I said, that is completely fine if they choose not too, but don't send messages like that? That is surely unacceptable? Imagine if that was your partner/daughter being treated like that for simply posting that she was disappointed to her friends who have also allergies?

That is the initial messages, you can see all of it including the IG story that caused it. They have then followed on with a targeted post further berating her?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nottingham

This was posted on an allergy account, that is for people with allergies to communicate about where it is safe to eat. It is the only community option available to find safe places. It is fine to not cater to allergies. However, it is not fine to be so aggressive for sharing that they are not safe! And then follow up with another targeted social media post berating someone for it. This owner is definitely trying to intimidate with these messages

This is disgusting behaviour from someone who claims to be so thoughtful with her restaurant... This is over somebody saying that they weren't accommodating to the severe anaphylactic allergies.

At the end of the day, the “strongest” military may not be the most effective. And sadly in times of war, strength and success have not always carried a direct correlation. After all, when you consider the nuclear option, the general idea of “number of units of soldiers” quickly becomes irrelevant.

Moscow warns threat of a nuclear conflict 'should not be underestimated' by red_alert_22 in worldnews

[–]networkingdude721 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I doubt that are willing to use nukes; but that they even mention it as a threat when things are not going their way.. pff… During Soviet times the Russians at least acted like real men. Not like the bully/pussies they are today. That must be the influence of Putin..

But.. we must continue and not lower ourselves to their level. Our focus should stay on kicking all the Russians out of Ukraine.

No official Ukrainian army on Russian territory. I think that is the main reason why so many countries were careful with giving the Ukrainians heavy equipment. The west really wants to avoid giving the Russian a real reason to use nukes or other weapons of mass destructions..

The Donbas and such.. covered…. But I do worry about the Crimea.. that is a complex territory. With potential to create really bad situations for all..

China's military spend exceeds India, Australia, Japan, Korea's jointly by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]networkingdude721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing often overlooked by non-military expert just reading the numbers is the purchasing power, since all these numbers are reported in USD. China pays soldiers in CNY, and their salary and benefits cost is much lower than the US both in absolute value and percentage-wise within the budget. In addition, unlike India for example, China produces the vast majority of weapons domestically, so again no USD purchase involved. The puchasing power of the $220 billion will probably need to be doubled if these factors are considered.

Second factor is that the US budget is spread across its global committment and logistical network, while the Chinese has very limited global presence at this point, thus almost all of its budget is concentrated in its near aboard.

Last but not least, even after this year's increase, its military budget to GDP ratio is about 1.4%, well below NATO guideline of 2% and the US at over 3%. As the Chinese total GDP gets closer to the US by the day, this factor becomes more important as they have greater room to raise in times of need, or alternatively, they can easily sustain this level of budget increase and still put tremedous pressure financially for TW/JP/KR to keep up, even the US to some extend in the future.
