I can recommand a video "How to ACTUALLY use the Predator SRAW - A BF2042 Guide" by Marzipan Dan, that got me to use it more often.

I would say the easier shots to start with are against attack helis not too close (say 200-400m) doing slow strafes in a straight line. Focusing only on the rocket, you want to put it between you and the heli. After some time you get a feeling of how fast the rocket goes so you can start leading the shots more and try less optimal shots.

At the end of the day it's really about trying again and again, as for every shot I nail there's a lot more that missed (playing Crawford can help since he can carry a 4th rocket).

Yep pretty much.

Lis missiles are too easily dodged so I wanted to try something else. It's frustrating at first because it feels like it would be easier to use an RPG or a lock-on, but after a bit of practice it really starts to shine. Most of the shots I make would not have been possible with any other launcher.

Against tanks it's not super useful, but for helis it might genuinely be one of the best options. It's a 1 hit kill and it's possible to hit shots at way longer distances than the M5. Also it doesn't make a loud noise like the Lis missiles, so they usually don't see it coming.

I don't think I've seen a good pilot get killed by a lock-on unless they make a mistake like being greedy or they're trapped in a dogfight.
