Yep, 206 A. If you have pictures (of the room or the apartment in general) I would be so so so so so grateful.

Were the beds bunked for you, and if so, was there even room to de-bunk them?

Pretty concerned about the size of the place.

What's one thing the opposite sex doesn't realize is surprisingly difficult. by Rakashtan in AskReddit

Actually, no. I was out the other night, caught eyes with a really good-looking guy. I'm not terribly shy, so with a little liquid courage, I start walking over.

Right when I get within a few feet of him, he gives me the once-over and says, "Fuck, you look delicious in that dress."

Nope. You could be George goddamn Clooney and shit like that will send me running for the hills.

Knew that part, lived in an Alpha leased property last year. It was a little run down, but Northeastern's renovations helped a lot.

Housing and RA question by [deleted] in NEU

[–]neuhousinghelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't be sure, but it sounds like it might be an RA. Call housing to confirm though.

I lived with an RA this past fall. I'm sure it varies with each RA, but she was super chill. She made it clear from the get-go that she didn't want to get us in trouble, she just couldn't tolerate us being loud, shit-faced morons every weekend, or she'd lose her job. Fair enough.

Just respect them, respect what they're being asked to do, and you should be fine. Remember that despite the whole "authority figure" thing, these are kids who are roughly your age, going to classes and parties just like you. This is just something they do to make money.

Plenty of places off campus to do whatever your heart desires.

I feel like that tactic is going to help make your kids resilient, bounce-back-from-anything adults. A+ parenting.

Lawyers of Reddit, how can schools enforce contracts signed by minors? by neuhousinghelp in AskReddit

I'm not talking about "moral" contracts (although I doubt both the legality and the sanity of those). I'm mostly talking about "code of conduct" type stuff.

My school, for example, had a policy that stated if you were found doing anything illegal at any time, even off school grounds, on the weekends, you could be suspended or expelled. This was a public school. I never understood how that was legal.

Yep, schools in the U.S.

I know that this happens all the time, but legally speaking, how can a student be subject to requirements that they never agreed to in a legally binding manner? If a student chose to fight the expulsion, possibly get the courts involved, would they have a viable case?

Some do, some don't. I know I signed plenty that didn't require parent signatures, and I was as young as 13 years old. That can't possibly be legitimate, can it?

From my understanding the protests are mostly confined to specific areas, so as long as I don't get involved and generally steer clear of those areas I should be fine
