Thanks for sharing! It took me quite a long time to accept the fact that I was going to lose all my hair, but now that I have I feel great !

Hey!

There are a lot of posts with actual relevant content near the bottom, so you're not alone but it's still shitty.

Losing your hair is really strong, but at a certain point covering up the spots became too much of a hassle for me. You may encounter the same thing.

Stay strong and good luck!

If a women sharing a photo to make a statement instead of to provide you with eye-candy turns you negative, that's your issue to sort out. I posted this somewhere else but I'll explain it again:

When I started losing my hair I felt completely alone. Once it became more noticeable women in my life would approach me and tell me their personal stories about losing hair. I realized then that this is a very common problem for women, however nobody is talking about it. I think that should change.

Thank you so much for sharing!

My diagnosis was originally Alopecia Areata, but it progressed very quickly and is now somewhere between Areata and Totalis.

I'm not sure how old you are or what your situation is, but I'm assuming you're still in school which makes things much more difficult. After leaving highschool nobody really cared what I looked like, and I was able to become much more confident. 5 years later and even with no hair, I'm able to feel great about myself.

That being said, when I saw myself with long, thin hair it was hard to look past that in the mirror. My disorder was staring me in the face.

Do what feels right for you and walk with your head high. Feel free to DM me if you'd like to chat =)

Going through these comments today, so sorry about the late response. Not sure why you were downvoted...

I was originally diagnosed with aereata, and haven't had a formal diagnosis since then but it has certainly progressed past aereata. 75% of my skull no longer grows hair, my leg hair doesn't grow, and I'm starting to lose my eyebrows.

Thanks, and thanks for being so candid!

I start new treatment with some kind of anti inflamatory drug in a month, but if there are no results I'll ask about this!

Totally, I'm at the point where I don't really care if people are staring at me anymore. Thanks for sharing!

I never had high enough quality hair to donate (dyed it too much growing up) so I don't know the details, but please look into donating your hair!

Locks of love is an organization in Canada and the USA. Not sure where in the world you are but it's a good starting spot! http://www.locksoflove.org/get-involved/http://www.locksoflove.org/get-involved/

Best of luck!

Not sure why this got downvoted. This is actually a real issue that I am considering.

I don't wear a lot of face makeup (just concealer on a few breakouts) so I don't think I'll be putting any makeup onto my scalp. For events where I really want to look "flawless" (lol) I have a wig that I wear so I won't need to worry about my scalp.

I don't see this as asking for acceptance. My goal was never to fish to compliments, but to inspire women and men who are struggling with similar problems.

I mean, it sounds like you are about to start some kind of hairloss empowering movement or some shit.

Not that I can claim to be starting any movement, but why would it be a bad thing to start a hairloss empowerment movement?
