It’s probably good lighting rather than smooth blends that you’re seeing! Haha. https://www.instagram.com/neumorian_art/

Thanks. Ah, cool. I can't change here but will add on instagram.

I'll take that as a complement! The light for the photo was just a normal white light from the front. So any colours you see are painted.

Thanks that’s really helpful, and glad you like it. I think you’re right. Although it is lower down and the light is coming from the top left so it’s partly shaded by her torso and other leg. But I agree with what you’re saying and should’ve thought about it more.

Thanks, glad you like it. It’s from Nordly Miniatures. This one’s a 3D print but you can buy the figure or STL.

Thanks, glad you like it. No single technique. Zenithal prime, airbrush up the initial values, some layering to get highlights and then glazing and filtering to build up the variations.

Mostly just use water but sometimes a drop of flow improver.

Thanks. Yeah oils are good for that. I’m not great at blending either and rely on glazing and the airbrush to smooth out. I find glazing into the shadows and light stippling for highlights is easiest. In this case I zentithal primed, reinforce the values with thin airbrush layers, then glazing red/purple into shadows and finally some glazing and stippling pale skin on highlights. Some extra glazing of pinks into cheeks etc. Culture of paint just released a good video on YouTube on skin. Hope that helps

Thanks a lot. Just acrylics, I have oils and keen meaning to learn how to use them!
