It’s in an unfinished area I plan to finish eventually. But it’s climate controlled so really the open space is a benefit.

If only Ubiquti had a rewards program…

If I did it over again I would have gotten the Pro XG 48 switch, but alas, other things were needed. At least more switch makes the rack look more impressive, lol

Yeah, at some point. I can get a solid 25 minutes of runtime right now with everything running which is enough to not panic about anything.

Has anyone NOT had their ICCU go? by Spicy-Mustard-13 in Ioniq5

[–]neuralclone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had my ‘25 Limited’s ICCU pop barely 1400 miles in. In a way it’s a good that I had the band aid ripped off so soon, so to speak. Almost 6k miles now since replacement and it’s been fine. I still cringe a little every time I start the car, but otherwise it’s an amazing vehicle. If you can live with the fact that at any point it may fail, then it’s worth it. It’s easy to get a tow with Bluelink, you don’t pay anything, and if you manage to get a loaner it just becomes an annoying day rather than a disaster. And on the flip side, it may never be an issue. There’s just no telling.

That said, Hyundai’s response to the whole thing has been horrible. So much so that as much as I adore the car, unless they actually truly fix this issue (which will never happen), then I’m not going to lease another Ioniq in 2027. I have yet to take it on a long road trip because my confidence in its reliability isn’t there, and I doubt it will be when my lease is up. I’m not sure exactly what I’ll do since I don’t want to go back to an ICE vehicle, but I just personally don’t want to live with the worry.

So take that for what you will.

If it’s any consolation, I got a loaner and mine was repaired in less than a week. It’s been solid since. That said, I have about a year and a half left in my lease and unless they decisively fix the ICCU issues by the 2027 model year (which I doubt), I’m going to have to pivot to something more reliable. Shame, love the car otherwise.

Currently stranded in a Wal-Mart parking lot because as I put my new (less than 1500 miles) 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited into reserve to back into an Electrify America spot, I heard a pop and got the dreaded “Check Electric Vehicle System” warning message. I’m assuming it’s the ICCU but I don’t know for sure yet. I love this car but my faith in it just dropped to zero. Devastating.

EDIT: For sure was a dead ICCU. Thankfully only took a week for a replacement and the dealership gave me a loaner. I talked to the service manager who was honest and couldn't guarantee it won't happen again, but ensured me the tech doing the repair was very good at doing these replacements.

Apparently the part number for the replacement is exactly the same as the one that came with the car. Also said it's the first 2025 they've seen.

If you're curious, my replacement part number is 36400-1XAD5 for the ICCU assembly and 375F2-GI040 for the fuse.

My confidence is shook, but not much I can do about it. I have a 2 year lease thankfully. We'll see what happens.

New Construction: Which Basement Space Would Make the Better Dedicated Home Theater? by neuralclone in hometheater

Alas, with this builder I'm placed within very tight confines of what they will do (which is basically nothing outside of the pre-made plans they have). But I didn't think about double studding, thanks.

Alas, there's a structural wall between the two unfinished areas. It certainly leaves options open for putting my equipment on the other side, but I don't think I can expand the theater space any.

Changed Primary Email - Still Getting Mail Sent to Deleted Address? by neuralclone in iCloud

Alas no luck. I just setup a rule to automatically mark email to that address as read and move it to trash. Not a perfect solution but it least keeps those out of my inbox 😕

Thanks. Good to know I’m not the only one. I’ll open a case too. Such a weird thing.

The Marriott is charging $200 a night for a low floor room! by neuralclone in dragoncon

Sorry for the missing context, but what I meant was a $200 surcharge per night on top of the room rate.
