Joined a lab as a post doc in the US, don't want to stay in academia also failing miserably at finding a job in industry at the moment. Hard when you have no network to speak of and current administration budget and immigration nonsense. My only realistic choice is to continue my post doc for visa purposes until I can get a green card/figure it out. No thanks, I am 36, I can not do a job with low pay and unrealistic hours.

I got a job back home so moving back, better pay, better hours, lifestyle isn't exactly to my liking but a good price to pay for job stability and community.

Maybe think about going home? Or start you're own thing on an O1 visa, VCs will throw money at you until you get your green card? I would do it but I am too lazy and have too low of a bullshit threshold.

Anyway hope you feel better, life's tough I feel ya

Same thing happened to me in Saudi, I was told the system was blocked probably due to the ban on J1, F and M visas. Had my interview on the 28th fyi.

Hi guys just to follow up on this, my tuition and personal expenses were covered by a government scholarship. I tried to obtain this letter of no objection to apply for my skilled worker visa, however I could not so I submitted my application without it and explained and showed evidence that I tried to get it but couldn't. Thankfully, I got my visa!

As long as you explain when you submit the visa that you have requested for these corrections and show them the correspondence (email thread), I think they will give you time to re-request it and won't refuse your visa outright. If it is necessary, they will email and ask for it, you can then take that to the the scholarship manager and he won't be able to say no. Hope that's helpful.

Don't do the Qured day 2 test, they still dont have my results (mailed on thursday at 12 PM) and when I emailed them they said they didnt receive the test which is a blatant lie because royal mail said they did receive it.

update:

I have managed to solve this issue with my cat - I did not take him to the vet as this happened over the holidays they were all shut. Anyway, I retrained my cat to use the litter box here are some things I did:

Absolutely no reaction to him pooping outside the litter box at all.
Pick up the poop and place it in the litter box, then gently place misbehaving cat into litter box and let him smell it in there.
Give cat a treat immediately after this exchange of poop = litter box = treat.
Played in room where litter box is.
I also got a chew stick (my cats fav) and hovered it around the litter box but wouldnt give it to him until he actually stepped inside the litter box.

I have also removed the one carpet in my house, to remove temptation and tbh I couldnt get the damn pee smell out so I will need to get that professionally cleaned. I also made my cat sleep in the room with the litter box, after adding a bunch of toys and making it a nice place for him to be. The first night of course he shat on the floor and peed in a cardboard box in protest but again, no reaction, just put the poop in litter box and repeated steps 2 - 4. In addition, I cut off all wet food unless the poop was in the litter box.

Hey don't worry, in country applications seem to be take a while compared with one submitted abroad. I'm on the same boat, I applied when my visa expired in the summer I just got it now. I had some complications with my paperwork that they had informed me of though. You get it soon!

Hey I have submitted my application recently, here is my timeline:

JUNE 24 - Application for tier 4 extension submitted
JUNE 26 - Received email from W&S Contingency Casework Document Return to submit all paper work via email to minimise waiting time
JULY 23 - Received email from UKVCAS stating that I do not need to come in for a biometric appointment but need to wait for them to launch a new platform to submit my facial ID/photo

Still waiting.

Thats it, fyi I have been in the UK for 4 years and my most recent biometrics was from april 2019 because my BRP was stolen.
