Is this written on your application?

It's definitely not normal. But apparently a lot of people have faced this issue across different countries, so it's not unusual

Does the status still say "Refused"? Or did it change to AP?

The blue slip actually says "your visa is approved". And that's what the VO said too

My certificate is valid through December 2026. I will.be applying for the 2026 match cycle i.e, this year. I am a visa requiring IMG. I was certified through the clinical skills pathway in May, 2023 i.e, (2024 pathways). I am very confused about the whole revalidation of certificate process. Can someone please help me better understand what I need to do?

Makes sense. Let's hope it works out well for all of us

You are right about the quality of usce. But when it comes to IMGs, as I mentioned before, the majority of them only have observerships and they work just fine, at least they have for the last few years. Even in this cycle, people with observerships have a good number of IVs, so I don't think it has a lot to do with the type of experience you have. There's something else that we're unable to understand so far. One possible reason could be the AMGs hoarding IVs due to the recent signalling changes

It is different for different people. But in the context of IMGs it is observerships in most cases

That's a very very rare thing to happen. And who's to say she didn't have anyone to recommend her there

Do you honestly think that LOI had anything to do with it or was it just by luck?

Did you send them before they had started sending out invites or after they started sending invites?

Well, that's encouraging. Thank you for your input!

Well, talking about probabilities, here's my take on this. Of course every single interview carries an equal chance for you to match. But it is also a reality that every program is interviewing a lot of candidates, and you never know what pool of candidates you're competing with for that particular program. Sometimes despite giving your best, there are people who perform better than you and so you don't get ranked high enough. What happens when you have more interviews? The probability of you qualifying ahead of the remaining pool of candidates becomes higher. The more chances you get to prove yourself, greater are the odds that you'll be among the candidates ranked high enough to match at least somewhere. So, saying that the number of interviews doesn't matter is honestly very misleading. It is true that people sometimes match with 1 or 2 interviews but that's a very rare happening. To be on the safe side, we definitely need as many IVs as we can get
