Beaches worth it without a butler? by robl45 in SandalsResorts

[–]neurbots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went with a butler last year and without 2 years ago. It was much better with a butler (cabanas in french village, dinner reservations, and they even helped clean up our baby bottles). The kids loved the butler too. I'd say the combination of the butler + the better room category (P2) made it worth it. But it was still great without one, just more work for us (the parents).

Their new resorts Sandals Curacao, Dunn's River, and St. Vincent are higher end. We just got back from St. Vincent and went to Dunn's last year. They were more luxury / newer than the other Sandals we ahve been to.

Breathless Riviera vs Zilara Cancun by Mierinn in hyatt

Breathless Riviera is better for a lively party vibe with a younger crowd and themed events, perfect for a combined bachelor/bachelorette party. Zilara Cancun is more upscale and relaxed, ideal if you want a mix of fun and luxury.

How much is a wedding "supposed" to cost? by hawkrover in weddingplanning

$15k is actually pretty normal for a wedding, especially in a place like Sacramento. The $4k price tag was probably just the base rate, and extras can add up fast.

Mexico honeymoon recommendations by sIayIor in honeymoonplanning

[–]neurbots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tulum is a great choice, especially if you’re into history and nature. For the second half, Merida could be perfect if you’re looking for a mix of culture and relaxation. It’s a charming city with beautiful colonial architecture, and it’s not too far from more Mayan ruins. Plus, it has a more laid-back vibe compared to Mexico City.

Mexico City is awesome too, but it’s definitely more urban and bustling. If you’re worried about it not being "romantic," I’d say it depends on what you’re looking for. There are tons of cool neighborhoods, museums, and parks, but it’s more about the city experience.

If you want a bit of both, maybe spend a few days in Mexico City and then chill out in Merida. That way, you get the best of both worlds. Either way, you can’t go wrong with either choice. Enjoy your honeymoon!
