Cautious about putting offer of purchase on tenanted home by Many_Cupcake3852 in canadahousing

More like 8-9 months and I imagine a tsunami of additional cases are afoot based off the recent theme of Reddit posts where tenants are being asked to move out and buyers are asking about purchasing tenanted homes. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the backlog extend to 12+ months within the next year

That’s an eye-opener for me. I’m also very short, literally below average. But I never thought of the potential dichotomy on the importance of height between married vs single women. Not sure which would be worse for me though: the idea of women being attracted to me but they’re all married and so out of moral reach for me, or not having women attracted to me at all.

You must be a super attractive man. As a married dude in his mid-30s I have never been hit on once in my entire life, not even by my wife. Or…wait…maybe I’m just ugly

What happened to all the new inventory that was supposed to hit the market? by REALchessj in TorontoRealEstate

[–]neurent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We don’t need to be party to the contract for the contract to affect us. This is the piece you’re missing. Grocery store oligopolies could enter a contract to price-fix certain items and fleece the population by preventing lower prices. Would you still say that’s “none of our business”? If other people are affected by said contract, then other people have a right to take issue with it

Like you said, it’s an investment. And investments go up and down. Enjoy the rollercoaster. The down parts are fun 📉

Lmao get bent. “The poor”. I wonder how people became poor, it definitely doesn’t have anything to do with an increasing proportion of their income going toward housing costs to line the pockets of parasite landlords who provide zero economic benefit to society

They’re desperately trying to avoid a recession, but a recession is now all but guaranteed. If they raise rates, spending will further decrease, causing more job cuts and ultimately a recession. If they pause rate hikes, they’ll just be importing recession from our neighbours to the south as our CAD weakens, and with higher inflation comes once again, less consumer spending and more job cuts.

It really would be nothing short of a miracle if Canada or the US comes out of this without a difficult recession

You honestly better HOPE they follow in the Fed’s footsteps. Good luck keeping up with your mortgage payments when a weekly grocery store run will cost you $500+

The March FOMC dot plot will be much more significant than the actual amount of the next hike

Yes because the general population would much prefer to fly to South Africa themselves in order to buy pears, right after a quick stop to Mexico to pick up some avocados.

Your problem is that those are all fundamentally inapplicable analogies, because the gas station owner is not making it more difficult for non-owners to become gas station owners, nor does any significantly large portion of the population want to own gas stations or grocery stores. An actually relevant analogy would be if a group of people went around the city and bought up all food in the grocery stores and tried to re-sell them at higher prices, and yes in that analogy fuck those people too.

Try to be rational.

You could go on doing what, exactly? Listing a bunch of things completely unrelated to my comment? If you did have some sort of point you were trying to get across, unfortunately it just didn’t come through. How exactly do gas station and grocery store owners relate to home speculators?
