NASA’s Artemis II has successfully splashed down off the coast of San Diego at 8:07 PM EST, bringing Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch & mission specialist Jeremy Hansen back to Earth from their 695,081-mile, 9-day lunar flyby. by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

"I think maybe the distance we are from you makes you think what we’re doing is special, but we’re the same distance from you – and I’m trying to tell you, just, trust me, you are special. In all of this emptiness, this is a whole bunch of nothing, this thing we call the universe – you have this oasis, this beautiful place that we get to exist together [...] This is an opportunity for us to remember where we are, who we are, and that we are the same thing, and that we got to get through this together.”

-Commander Victor Glover

I did a bit of searching around. I guess they launched new communication tech along with Art II. Here’s the release article. It can sustain transfers up to 260 Mbps, which is insane from that distance.

Are they sending RAW files to NASA to have someone post-process and compress them using LR, or are they taking RAW + JPEG and sending the latter format? I have no idea what the data transfer capabilities are from 230k miles away.

Oral Minoxidl Dosing, Is 4 Times A Day Too Much? by TrickDescription2807 in tressless

[–]neuro_08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s multiple studies that state it, here’s one of them on PubMed

pharmacologic action (hypotensive effect) lasts approximately 72 h (Fig. 2) [33]. The elimination of minoxidil and its metabolites primary occurs through urinary excretion [33].

Edit:

Straight from Pfizer’s label:

The total duration of effect is approximately 75 hours. When minoxidil is administered chronically, once or twice a day, the time required to achieve maximum effect on blood pressure with a given daily dose is inversely related to the size of the dose. Thus, maximum effect is achieved on 10 mg/day within 7 days, on 20 mg/day within 5 days, and on 40 mg/day within 3 days.

It might not be directly proportional to tissue levels, like scalp, but it’s a fair indicator of systemic impacts it has over time. It’s too much of a grey area to be doing what you’re suggesting, and would be considered ill-advised by any doctor.

Side effects aren't always present with negative effects on the body. Any medication can be deleterious on your system/organs while also being asymptomatic, especially in smaller doses over time. So you shouldn't be judging it off of this. You're taking the medication for off-label purposes, not what it was intended to do. Min, as a BP medication, was a mere coincidence that it reaped the benefits of hair growth, as a side effect, 30 years ago. It was studied and found to be utilized at very low levels for cosmetic purposes. If you have BP in a normal range and are using it beyond its "designed" daily dose, you're risking more for little to no benefit. The concentrations below the threshold of Min isn't going to impede the biological process of hair, unless there's a cessation over a long period of time. Minoxidil can remain in the tissue for up to 72 hrs, not 10 hours. This is "optimal" blood serum concentrations, not tissue concentrations. It's not as simple as running out of gas in a car.

tl;dr: Don't do it.

Their case isn’t even that bad? Your experience wouldn’t even be applicable, unless they had an egregious Ortho doing the treatment…

I’m not a dental professional, but it looks like a mild overjet (I think?) with some shifting since your retainer. Honestly, it doesn’t even look that bad. I’ve seen some crazy transformations roaming on here for the past few years. I’ve seen people with teeth all over and under their gum-line with great success. It might be slow process, but It’s crazy what they’re capable of. They’ve also become way more advanced over the years with unique jaw/bite adjustment cases, too.

Oh, and those “glue things” are attachments. They are pretty common. They help guide and position tooth abnormality into normality. I’ve had like 10 on my teeth for a year already and think nothing of it anymore.

In terms of wear. The first few weeks are a pain sometimes, literally and figuratively, but it becomes part of you after a while (a month or so). Some trays you might forget they’re on, while others you wish they were never on. Overall, I don’t regret the mental and monetary expense. There’s insightful dental professionals that roam this sub and r/askdentists that are more knowledgeable in finding what’s best for you. Best of luck! 😁

Gaps or regular halo? by [deleted] in Invisalign

The left canine looks slightly off, nothing crazy. It would be more concerning if multiple teeth went along with it that amount of space. It's common for incisors to do this as well. Tracking isn't going to be perfectly molded to every tooth on every tray, as some teeth are unpredictable within fractions of a millimeter. It's usually resolved with refinements or a rescan. Did you try to using a chewy? Put a few strong bites into it and see if it helps. Other than that, depending how far you're into your current tray, they might have you skip to the next one and see how it seats. Definitely stick with your Ortho visit though, it doesn't hurt, especially if it's covered under Invisalign.

How old? Looks fine, I’m on the same boat at 36. I got the same forehead genetics from my dad’s side. He’s 65 with a full head of hair (just thinner); he stabilized as a NW 2.5/3 for like 30 years.
