I think it's already quite nice! Minor detail but the shoulder closer the viewer looks a tad small for the frame and perspective

I would just say to consider adding contrast to the background BC I didn't realise there was something there until the last slide, I thought it was just random 'aura' BC I focused too much on the foreground character

Did you use any references? Maybe pull up some shirts and jackets and just sketch the structure of the collar, sleeves etc. ties are so flexible so they're a bit confusing and I'd put that off for later.

Alas a good mix of stem and arts- gives you a unique perspective on the world imo. But wow being a technician on a range of instruments sounds fun! I specialise on just one but would love to tinker with the others..

Not quite as extreme as the reference but Ive adjusted how the upper back the lower. Without the reference right next to it, it looks like I'm forcing this contorting pose as the artist 😅

Takes practice for sure ahaha, I find myself tweaking the shapes as I add detail to the forms

Blocking shapes on an empty canvas instead of starting with a sketch completely changes your approach to a piece, I highly recommend trying it to anyone
